“Even a thief may have honor, and even a jinni may have a heart.”

The story follows aladdin who steals a ring that speaks to him and eventually lead him to a jinni and not any jinni but when of the most famous and dangerous ones

“You’re a—you’re a—”
Say it, boy. Demon of fire. Monster of smoke. Devil of sand and ash. Servant of Nardukha, Daughter of Ambadya, the Nameless, the Faceless, the Limitless. Slave of the Lamp. Jinni.
“. . . a girl!” he finishes”
Aladdin was funny and sweet and overprotective when to comes to zahra
The two started off as a master and a jenni and then the became good friends and then LOVE

“Loving someone is never wrong. And like you said, it’s not a choice. It just happens, and we’re all helpless in its power.”

I love everything about this story, the characters were all very well written, and the way zahra's past blend it with her present was very impressive

It took me a few chapters to get hooked but once I was the story sucked me in. I love a reselling and I love the Aladdin story. The characters are well rounded and the story fast paced. I would definitely recommend it to my students. Another good pick for the Lone Star list!

This book is a three because I had been reading it on and off since September....I did like the action towards the end though! And the cover is beautiful. That drew me to it. And I like forbidden romance plots.

For this is the first rule of the jinn: that no jinni may love a human. For always must our allegiance be to Nardukha, and none else.

I have read a thousand and one stories but I haven't read a story such as this. What else can I say?

This is such a breathtaking retelling of the Genie in the Lamp. It focused more on the genie, or in this story's case, the jinn, instead of Aladdin.

Zhara, the jinn, was forced to make difficult decisions throughout this story but in the end she found a way to make things right. To correct her past mistakes which had burdened her for so many years. And by her side was Aladdin, a thief that had became her master.

But that's not the only story behind this book. This book had many twists and turns which left me unwittingly craving for more. You have to read this book to find it out.
