I really enjoyed this! I wish I was better at writing reviews though so I could express all my feelings. Loved this book really. It's cute, and sad, and hopeful and amazing.

If you don't listen to ANYTHING else I have to say just hear this. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT listen to the audio of this book! The narration is so atrocious that if I had continued listening to it I would have probably given this book a 2 star rating. Yes it effected the story that much and yes I listen to a LOT of audio some I can just push through and it won't effect the story or my rating but not this one! HOLY cow I don't even think it should be sold because this book is SO SO good I love the story so much and the characters are amazing...when read...I am so glad I put the audio away and picked up the book.

It surely was a great book but maybe if I had read it another time it would have been better for me.

Elle and Oliver's non-relationship lasts for nearly a decade, with a lot of stop-and-go going on between them. Your heart can't help but break for Elle, who, in spite of an engagement with her late live-in boyfriend, always seems to set herself up for disappointment when it comes to Oliver aka Bean. There's no denying the depth of their feelings for one another, but Oliver appeared to take Elle for granted, constantly assuming that she would be there when he was finally ready for an actual relationship with her.

Oliver is a highly driven individual, with his primary focus on his education and then his medical career. There are reasons for his being as ambitious as he is, which certainly makes it easier to comprehend his actions. Still, there's no denying that there's a fair amount of frustration when it comes to his inability to commit to something (anything!) when it comes to Elle. Yes, he's always loved her, but doing absolutely nothing or the bare minimum to keep the connection going makes him increasingly unworthy of dear Elle.

This love story is more about having the right kind of love at the wrong time, especially considering how many opportunities Elle and Oliver had to be much more than they were for so long. Sometimes, a person simply wants to be secure in the knowledge that they matter and that the love they have for you is valued and appreciated. You can't help but wish people know the kind of gift they have in their hands, but sometimes, losing it is what makes opens your eyes to the truth. Kaleidoscope Hearts gets five-plus stars. ♥

"I always thought you were mine."

Warning; Don't start this book in the evening unless you plan on staying up until 1:00 am to finish it! It was worth all the missed sleep.

This book had it all; friends to lovers, brother's best friend, and second chance romance. I loved the unusual POV style; it was dual but alternated from heroine (present) and hero (past). I loved Elle and Oliver so much. I think I highlighted half the book. Their love was so complicated but amazingly beautiful. I hope we see more of the minor characters in future books.

I highly recommend this book to any classic style romance fan!

Tomorrow I'll be okay, but today I let myself bleed, and that's okay too.

*****
This book made me feel so many emotions. This was my first Claire Contreras novel, and it sure will not be my last! The writing style is amazing, the feels were terrific, and the characters were amazing. I fell in love with all the characters. From the very beginning I had a hard time putting the book down. Also, the cover art is just absolutely beautiful.

Elle and Oliver have known each other since they were kids, as Oliver is Elle's brothers best friend. Growing up both Elle and Oliver knew they were not allowed to have feelings for each other. And Oliver was determined to be a successful doctor, so he went off to finish his education. Meanwhile, Elle opens an art studio and pursues her love for art, by making Kaleidoscope Hearts.

Times got rough for Elle, and now that Oliver is back, he's willing to do anything to prove that he really wants to be in her life. He's not going to give her up this time around.
