A great read. It moves at a snappy pace, and is unexpectedly sweet, classy, and heartwarming for a book about magic sex. The writing is phenomenal, with little metaphors that electrify every page.

My only quibble is that it could’ve used some more editing. There are writing slip-ups here and there, and the ebook has some formatting errors. Easy enough to ignore and/or fix in future editions though.

Girl like a bomb, by Autumn Christian was a nice departure from my typical reads. In a nutshell, it’s the story of a girl who discovers she has the ability to fix people’s lives from having sex with them and achieving orgasm. Sounds wild, right? It is. I don’t want to say too much because this one was such a joy to read I don’t want to spoil anything. Christian is an excellent writer and I thoroughly enjoyed the story she told in these pages. I enjoyed the book so much I immediately bought two more of her books. Highly recommend this one, it isn’t new for 2021 but it may be my favorite book I’ve read so far this year

This was how religions started, with a cataclysmic bang loud enough to make you believe in God. -42

2.5! This book has an incredibly creative premise that I have not seen elsewhere. It probably deserves a rating higher than what I gave it; however, the editing and presentation of the ebook made for a torturous reading experience. The novel was littered with grammatical and formatting issues that distracted and took me out of the story. There were multiple on almost every single page. I'm not sure if this is a self-published work, but the author needs a better beta reader/editor.

Beyond this, the story was enjoyable. Beverly was a fairly sympathetic character and the novel ended on a very satisfactory note. I read this book as an ebook from Kindle Unlimited.

People say that everything changes once you have a child. What they don't say is that it's like you pushed out a piece of your soul, and now instead of staying safe inside you, it's walking around in a new and tender skin. -191

Genuinely the strangest book I have ever read. Honestly not much more to say about it. It was entertaining so that why the rating is 3 stars— I don’t even know how to correctly judge star ratings lmfao. This is the type of book that I would never recommend but if I ever came across someone who had read it- we’d probably talk about it for hours. That feels like a 3 star book, right?

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book, but towards the middle, it seemed rushed, and Bev's character wasn't really likable anymore. I did like how at the begging of the story, Bev having sex and her power was sort of liberating for her, and through the middle, it's just her job, and people are only using her for sex and her power.

3.5 stars, rounded up.

It's rare to find an author who writes with such powerful, evocative language. There's something so desperate and vital in the prose and the sense of wonder and longing it creates.

That said, while the story started off really strong, the plot progression went a bit off the rails in the middle in the book. It started feeling silly at some points and then a bit shallow by the end. The book could use some more foreshadowing and seeding of the later themes so it doesn't feel so disconnected.

I'm definitely going to be looking for more books from this writer.
