5 Suspenseful Stars!!

Reading this book was the best decision I made hands down!!
We have Sara who wakes up in an hospital with no memory of her prior life or her husband Jacob. Right off the bat I knew something was off about the whole thing. This whole marriage didn't seem right. The more I read the more this screamed CULT!!!! Sara, you're in danger
girl!! Jacob also seemed like he had something to hide and you have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about. My jaw literally dropped with that bombshell!! We have also have Stella who is investigating the disappearance of her best friend, Mindy. My theory on this whole disappearance was wrong and that was another twist I didn't coming! Stella is also dating a detective named Dylan. Keep that in the back of your mind for later! There were so many twist and turns and shocking revelations in this book. The best part about this book is the minute I thought I had something figured out Romig would throw in a curveball. I love when a book keeps you on your toes and you don't know what expect. This book had my mind all over the place. I had all these different theories and questions and feelings. What I loved about the book was the writing. I've never read anything by Romig before and man can she write a book!! This story just sucked me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't read fast enough and now I'm upset it's over. Will Sara get her full memory back? Will Jacob come clean? What will happen with Father Gabriel?? Will we ever find out what happened to Mindy? I have a whole other theory about her and waiting to see if I'm correct. Will Dylan be outed? I don't know how I can wait for the next book! Thank You Romig for renewing my love in this genre again! Well done!

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review... WOW, I didn't see that coming!? Yet another incredible book from Aleatha and completely different from anything she has done before! I truly had no idea where this story was going and just when I think I did, she twists the story yet again... Sara wakes up remembering nothing, in a world she has no recollection of and a husband who is determined to bring her back into "The Light". So many crazy twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out where the story heads next... and after that killer cliffhanger ending, I'm sure we're all DYING to get our hands on the next book!? HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended read!!

Right before I started this book I talked about how long it had been since a book enthralled me from the beginning. We were on vacation in a location with very little signal, and Into The Light was the only book I’d had downloaded from Amazon’s cloud to my iPad. I decided to give it a shot. After flying through the first 10 chapters my previous statements about other books quickly became a thing of the past.

There were parts of this book that, as a woman, were difficult to handle. I felt many emotions for the characters. I had some of the underlying roles figured out, but not all of them. The surprise towards the end was fantastic.

This was the first book in probably a year or more that I would stay up late to try to finish. As soon as I was done I bought #2, and look forward to curling with it as often as possible.

cult series

This was a dark side of a cult life that was chaotic yet spell binding. I didn’t want to put it down! I can’t imagine what happens next! Five stars!

I have to admit..when I first saw this book up for request on Netgalley I thought it was a sexy times book.

It's more of a thriller and it's freaking good! 4.5 stars from bitchy me good.

Sara wakes up in a hospital and realizes she can't see and has no memories of her life at all. She is told by the staff and a guy who says he is her husband that she had an accident and is recovering. But husband boy? Jacob..he tells her to not embarrass him...then he proceeds to lie when questioned by the 'sister' and 'brothers' that come to see Sarah.
Sara may just need to go back to sleep.
Palm Springs commercial photography

Sara is told that Jacob and herself are part of what is called "The Light"..led by Father Gabriel.
Palm Springs commercial photography

The Light is a cult refuge in which women are taken care of by their husbands. Umm that means the fuckers tell them when to even take a pee.
The husbands and Sara finds this out the hard way, may have to 'correct' their wives for either questioning or embarrassing them in anyway.
But of course..they love them. *gag*
Palm Springs commercial photography

Sara is pretty beat up and it's believable to see where she doesn't know her past, so she ends up going back to the compound with Jacob. She learns that she is supposed to greet him at the door when he returns home everyday.
Palm Springs commercial photography

Jacob does have two sides though and Sara starts to have some smexy time feelings for him. (Lay off the girl-she honestly believes she belongs here)..plus the compound is in the far north Alaska and they make sure she knows about polar bears.

There is another storyline going at the same time as Sara's story is unfolding. Stella is an investigative reporter who's best friend Mindy has gone missing. Once she starts looking into the disappearance she realizes that everything ties back to "The Light"...
Think you have it figured out? YOU ARE SO WRONG!! This book totally messes with your head.

Now I need the second book. I hate frigging cliffhanger serial books and here I am begging for the next one. I need to get ahold of myself.

I'm picking my friend Chelsea's review to put in this slot. She hits the nail on the head with this book and she uses words instead of pick-tures.

Ugh, I slogged through this one. I wanted to stop numerous times but it was well reviewed so I stuck with it. If it was just a mystery, that might’ve been fine but the romance and sex scenes were so cliche and bad. And the book is only half of the story, I hate when the first in a series can’t stand on its own. I do not recommend.

I can not get over what twisted crazy books come from the sweet Aleatha! This book was very interesting, told in dual POV one being a woman in a high level position of a religious cult and another being an investigator for a popular news show. I figured out some of what happened but other details were shocking, it ends in a cliffhanger as many of Aleatha's books do but there will be a follow up soon and I will be waiting to read the rest of this story and discuss it with her!

I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did, but “Into the Light” was a real page-turner. The story follows three characters, Stella, Sara, and Jacob.

Stella is an investigative reporter searching for her lost friend while researching a cult-like organization called “The Light.” Sara recently wakes up from a car accident with no memory of her life. She learns that she is the wife of Jacob, one of the high-ranking Assemblymen of The Light, who must relearn her subservient role in the organization.

While many aspects of the story made me mad—particularly that women are treated like possessions—I also couldn’t put this down. I think back to Jim Jones, Waco, and other real-life cults, so I know much of what happens, while fiction, likely happens (or has happened) somewhere.

There are many holes left open and a big twist in the end that I didn’t see coming, making me desperate to start Book 2 pronto.
