I picked this one up because of the cover (just look at it...) and I was extremely surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it...
I had no idee this is partially told in a mixed media format...interview and video transcripts, emails between characters...all those made the audiobook even better...
It reminded me of House of Hollow (which I loved)...it was fast paced, atmospheric and thrilling all the way...even disturbing at times, also the characters were not annoying at all (a thing very common in YA horror in my opinion)
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the romance because it wasn't necessary...still, I'll definitely check her other books...I Am Still Alive and Rules for Vanishing

Our Last Echoes is the second book I've read by Kate Alice Marshall, and I adore both of them. The stories are creepy and creative, and the epistolary format works really well. This one got a little convoluted at the end, but I still had a lot of fun reading it. This book reminded me of a couple good horror movies that I'm not going to mention to avoid spoilers, but just know there's a lot to enjoy here.

Not sure why a book written in 2020 by an author who *seems* to understand that bigotry is wrong included a Harry Potter reference. It doesn't mean I dislike the whole book as a result, but as a trans person, etc., it makes me wary of reading more by the author.
