I usually avoid short story collections - but I’m glad I picked this one up. This was really fun to listen to! I loved how each story connected but was on its own - using different monsters and horror genres to tell a story of a family across generations. I definitely had my favorite chapters, ones I wish would be expanded on. There were also a few I didn’t enjoy/feel neutral about. But that’s the case with any short story collection..

i liked it. It was a dense read. The writing read like a classic, you have to really pay attention. It took me a while to read it. There were some slower parts but most of it was interesting and kept me engage. I do not know ho someone got the musical from this.

I wish we got to see more activist Elphaba, and more Glinda and Elphaba. Too much was dedicated to Boq - those were my least favorite chapters. I also wish there was expansion on the treatment of Animals.

All in all in was a good and interesting read. I do not know if I will read the rest of the series.
