The plot of this book had me super intrigued. Melanie and Ashton meet at a club and “hook up”. Melanie ends up needing a roommate and lo and behold it ends up being Ashton (the guy from the club). I have to be honest and say Melanie drove me insane. She was so particular about EVERYTHING all the way down to how much food they were sharing and making sure he didn’t eat hers. Like what?? If I were Ashton I would have ran for the hills. There was nothing exciting about her at all. Melanie is a Capricorn and my daughter reminded me that my dad is a Capricorn as well and drives me insane too 🤣 so right on JB Sharp for nailing that sign. Melanie doesn’t want a relationship and wants to keep things casual with Ashton but yet sends him texts like “work is a total
shit show… cant wait to get home 😉” that sounds relationship-y to me. I didn’t feel their connection or chemistry at all which made all the steamy scenes not as enjoyable. With that being said this book has way more sex scenes than any of the others which I’m sure many appreciated. Unfortunately this was my least favorite of the series 😞 book 1 is still my favorite out of the 4 but she has more planned for the series. I’m happy I’m all caught up to JB Sharp’s books so I can read them as they release.

SPOILER AHEAD⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

The audacity of this woman to leave him at the ER to tend to his hard dick that won’t go down and then show up at his families home to “bring him home” biiiiiitch you left him at the hospital and didn’t stay with him. What gives you the right to show up at his parents and tell him to come home 🙄 people in these “friends with benefits” type relationships crack me up. It’s not going to work but yet they think they can handle it. Melanie is so unlikable it almost makes me mad.

This one wasn’t as entertaining to me. I feel like we missed a ton of backstory because these two knew each other back in high school. Actually Levi dated Mandy’s best friend m, Rebecca. Mandy works at Oakside and Levi is a patient there. Mandy wants to tell Rebecca that Levi is at Oakside and that they are together but that drags on for so long. Then they have a double date with Rebecca and her husband and that was awkward as shit. Explain to me why Rebecca even cares that Levi and Mandy are together? she has a whole husband and child on the way 🙄 I was more annoyed with this one than anything and felt kind of out of the loop. One part that really broke my heart was when Levi’s POS dad showed up trying to tell him to come home in the worst way possible. So there is family drama too. Now the next story sounds so freaking good!!!

Once B Sobjakken releases a book I read it so freaking fast. Even though I’m not a fan of surprise pregnancy I still wanted to give this one a shot. I do love me some best friend’s dad romances and especially when they are as messy as this one. This one has cheating but not the MCs. The pacing was really good and the steamy scenes were perfection.

Originally I had started this book months ago but for some reason I wasn’t in the mood for it. I was at Barnes & Noble and overheard a woman telling another customer that this book was her favorite by this author. Being that I’ve already read quite a few books by Abby Jimenez I had to find out for myself why she loved it so much. Kristen & Josh are both in their friends wedding and their first interaction wasn’t the best. Kristen has a boyfriend, who’s in the military, but he doesn’t live with her yet. Josh ends up helping her with work and they start to get closer. I got super annoyed with Kristen because she straight up says that she likes Josh more than her boyfriend Tyler. Kristen has some health issues that makes her think she doesn’t deserve Josh. So there are definitely heavy topics in this book but there is also so many humorous moments. Kristen & Josh have the best banter and chemistry. I just couldn’t stop thinking about her boyfriend and how he had no clue. There was no denying that Kristen & Josh were meant to be but the obstacles they face were real life shit and it was heartbreaking at times. I really loved how open and honest Kristen was with Josh in the beginning but it changed so fast. I was hoping they would continue being the same way throughout the whole book but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. One of the tropes I hate is miscommunication and this book has it which really bummed me out. I was so invested that I kept reading to see how everything plays out. They hook up so early on that I knew there had to be so much more to this story. I screamed “JUST TALK TO HIM ABOUT EVERYTHING” more times than I could count. A man in love is so damn patient and that was 100% Josh. This man is perfect and the way she flipped a switch and started treating him differently really ticked me off. He deserved so much better. I was so frustrated with Kristen for most of the book and my head hurt, so I could only imagine how he felt. I really tried to sympathise with Kristen and everything she went through but even by the end of the book I was over her. This book deals with infertility so make sure that is a topic you don’t mind reading. There are actually a few trigger warnings to be aware of so be sure to look into those. Am I happy I read it? I guess. I would have been wondering if I would like it if I hadn’t. Will I continue with this series? I dont think so.

SPOILERS:

Where do I even begin. In the beginning of the book I loved Kristen. I loved everything about her and once she met Josh I thought they were perfect. Their banter was hilarious and they got along so well. Problem was she had a boyfriend who is in the military and was deployed. While he is gone she is getting close with Josh. I don’t like that. I was a Marine wife for 4 years and long distance is hard and there are times you wont talk to them for weeks on end. That doesn’t give you the right to fall in love with someone else. Kristen didn’t technically cheat but I still think emotional cheating is cheating and its wrong. Kristen was so open with Josh the whole time and then once they slept together she completely changed. A switch flipped because Josh wants a huge family and she has a lot of woman issues and is told she can’t have kids. Instead of talking to this wonderful, understanding man about it she just shuts him out. Will have sex with him no problem but no relationship. That pissed me off! Tyler (the Marine) is her ex and he ends up showing up trying to get her back. The reason they broke up was because he kept calling her and she never answered and he finally left a voicemail saying he was reenlisting. She always told him if he reenlisted that they were over. Once she got that voice message she jumped into Josh’s arms and onto his cock. Anyways, Tyler showed up to get her back and talks her into going to dinner. Mind you Josh is there because he helps her build pet stairs in her garage. They go to dinner and Tyler ends up proposing to her and at first she said “no” but then she said “maybe”. MAYBE???? BITCH WHAT?? Josh is seriously perfect and deserved to be treated better. Kristen and Josh met because they were both in their friends wedding. Sloane is Kristen’s best friend and Brandon is his. Fast forward to a little over halfway through the book and its almost their friends wedding and Brandon gets into a motorcycle accident and dies. It was super sad but I didn’t cry. I guess I didn’t feel attached to those characters. Even during that whole thing Kristen still pissed me off. Josh needed her and she was there but she wasn’t. He didn’t deserve the way he was being treated. This man would do anything for her. FINALLY she tells him about her troubles and this man does research and gets them options on having kids and all that. Of course that wins her over FINALLY. Well they go to the doctor to find out what they need to do first and the doctor tells them they can’t do any of those things because SHE’S PREGNANT! Then end up having a little boy and instantly try to have another baby but it doesn’t happen. THE END. I’m sure I missed shit but that about sums it all up.

I love how all these books tie into each other. Past couples are mentioned in each one so be sure to start from the beginning. Teddy is in a wheelchair and was the only one who survived out of his guys. He’s at Oakside but isn’t doing the work to get better until Mia shows up. Mia is working at Oakside for the summer. She is the nanny for her best friend and her husband who was also in the military. Mia has been through her own loss that her and Teddy end up bonding over. I loved how once Teddy saw Mia he wanted to start doing better when before he refused to do rehab. He has a letter that he reads multiple times a day and we don’t get to know what it says until Mia finds it. Teddy has survivors guilt so bad and really struggles to talk about what happened. There are ups and downs within the story that really add drama to it. I really enjoyed this book.

I first read “Becoming Mallory” when it came out and LOVED it!! I still think about the book all the time. The moment Elaine Evans mentioned this book I knew it was a must read. First off let’s talk about this cover 😍 It’s so beautiful and perfect for this story. The book starts in 1995 but goes all the way back to 1990 and I’m such a sucker for books written in a 90’s setting. I was told the story would make me mad at times and it sure did but it also broke my heart just as much. The back and forth in this book is REAL! I was so invested in both Maria and Sam’s lives together but also apart. At times the book did get a little too wordy and explained way too many things in detail but it helped take us right to that very moment so I couldn’t be too annoyed. I’ve never loved two characters so much but also be so mad at them time and time again. Like why? If you know you are in love with each other then why be with other people? It definitely gives “right person, wrong time” big time. Just like most love stories this one is messy, raw, emotional and you can’t help but root for Maria & Sam! By the end of the book, you’ll feel like you personally know Sam and Maria and that says so much about Elaine’s ability to write such in-depth books that will have you feeling every emotion imaginable. It’s a whole journey to get to their HEA but I promise it’s worth it. Every letter, email, and text is worth it!

Well… that was something. I love me some degradation but this took it too far. I explained it to my friend by saying “Like make me cry because you’re shoving your dick down my throat but don’t make me cry by saying mean things and hurting my feelings” and I felt like the shit this old man said would have hurt my feelings. The synopsis doesn’t explain what this book is about and honestly I think you should go in blind. I will say the age gap is large and it is forbidden. So if you’re into a shit ton of degradation and love age gap and forbidden then give this short novella a read. It’s 69 pages so not a huge commitment.

My friend Jes told me I needed to read this novella. I love me a good monster romance but I am picky about them. From the start I was hooked. It’s only 53 pages but personally I thought that was the perfect amount to get the whole story. And yes, there is a storyline and it isn’t all just smut. I loved both Layla and Castro so much. Castro is a lizardman who is in someone’s basement. They won’t let him leave but want him gone if you know what I mean. They call a company to come and handle the job and they send Layla. That’s all I’m going to say. It’s steamy, it’s sweet, Layla is badass, and you can’t help but love Castro. So freaking good 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What do you do when your first love, who you haven’t seen in 5 years, walks into your flower shop on a date with one of your best friends? You try to avoid him at all cost. The guy clearly doesn’t get the memo and once he sees you he forgets his dates name. Old feelings spark right back up the moment they notice each other. Things ended abruptly and Colton has so many questions for Delaney. I played so many different scenarios in my head as to why she left and never looked back. Second chance isn’t my favorite trope and I’m always extra picky when I do pick a book up with this trope. It’s hard to not experience their firsts with them. Without that I normally feel less connected to the characters or believe in their love. We do get flashbacks of key moments in their relationship which was awesome. The moment Colton and Delaney got into the same room I felt all the feels. The tension was super high and I was completely invested in their romance. Colton won my heart over. I love me a patient man and holyshit was this man patient. Their awkward interactions made this book that much better and I especially loved their text conversations. To think I almost skipped this book all together because of the trope, I’m so glad I read it. The next one sounds so good and I’m excited to dive into that one soon.

The formatting isn’t my favorite and it’s 3rd person which I dislike. It’s super short so I pushed through. Madeleine and Reston’s initial conversation was cute. She was so nervous and he was trying to explain everything to her. When she asked him if she could ride him I cackled 🤣🤣 “Hold on tight, I’m going to give you the ride of your life” is what he said when she clung to him. And the fact that he knew she was attracted to him because he could feel it between her legs while she was riding on him 😳 the whole time I read this I kept wondering if he was hung like a horse or not 🤭 unfortunately we never get to find out because the damn novella ends after he uses his tongue 🙄 I’m guessing the whole series is their story so if you enjoyed the story you would want to continue.  I personally didn’t like the way the story was told so I won’t be continuing.
