I loved how they both handled their personal issues. that one actually brought tears to my eyes a bit. It was amzing that they did that. I like book lot. I've read it in there two days
I liked this book, just a little romance between these two kids while space stuff is happening in the background. Don't expect anything to deep or intense but it's still fun
Absolutely deserves all the praise it has been given. We need more books that center the experiences of LGBTQ+ people, especially queer and trans people of color. An amazing read that explores the confusion that is our teen years and how love, art, education, identity, and being queer intersect. The writing is beautiful and shows the truth of the struggle to love oneself in a real way. At points, it hit me a little too close to home, and I found it difficult to push through the blatant transphobia that Felix had to deal with. None of us should have to experience a hate act like that in our lives, but many of us do
I really enjoyed this book overall. The magic felt really fresh and unique, I really like fantasy stuff that has to do with plant magic so I was soooo ready for this but the pacing of this one just kind of felt off to me. It was really slow with a lot of buildup that took like 90% of the book to pay off, and then it just kind of...ends?...in a way that feels less like an exciting cliffhanger and more like we just got to the action. I loved the characters and the setting and the mystery of it all so much that I had a really good time reading it. On to the sequel
This blew my expectations away! The characters, worldbuilding, and magic system were basically original to this story, and the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. My favorite part was the climax-I won't spoil it but it was just so well done. Overall, I'd recommend this one to fantasy lovers. I’m starting the second book immediately!
This story is quite heavy, and deals with issues surrounding toxic friendships and relationships, eating disorders and outing. I feel that there were a lot of complex themes the author tried to check off, without really focusing upon any one of them in great detail. I enjoyed it anyway and preferred that it is focus on the mental health aspect.
There’s something about how Alice Oseman writes her books, you just fall into the story completely, it feels like you’re part of the group.
This book has so much. The friendships in this are fantastic. None of them are just a side character. I loved how Georgia’s relationship with each of them, Pip, Jason, Rooney and Sunil, is different but beautiful in its own way. I also love that Geogia is so relatable. This book helped me understand myself better, so that is amazing
This is such a positive book, it has incredible representation.
I absolutely loved Cyrus and Reece. It was amazing to watch Reece transform and grow into the man he was meant to be. Cyrus is such a tender soul and I love how his tentacles have a mind of their own.
