One of the most creative pieces of writing i have ever read! It was so much fun and so wild. Enjoyable the whole time.

Kurt’s resentment of the Vietnam war was palpable throughout the book.

Chicken soup for the bisexual soul. If you care about queer theory, know a bisexual, or might in fact be a bisexual, read this book! The author did a great job of sharing their personal growth and the ups and downs that come with true allyship.

It shined a painfully bright light onto my awkward insecure feelings about being bisexual/queer. I finally felt like i had a space to process them. I didnt just feel “seen” i felt electric. ⚡️

Also my awakening was in a club that felt like a church.

If she wrote a romance book i would pick it up immediately 🔥

Really emotional to read post pandemic. I definitely fell asleep crying next to my spouse. I liked the story telling a lot. Def not a #girlboss #menarestupid kind of book. But i liked that because it felt like the author chose to look feminist theory and those we love straight in the eyes while writing.

I just… need to cry a little bit. It was so meaningful.

I wish this book had been written a little later so we could have heard more about her conversation to Islam. Religion played such an important role in her childhood and career and I would have liked to explore that more.

I understand what people mean when they say a book is overwritten. Maybe it has something to do with the first person narrative.

Regardless this book so fun and dark and messy. I cant believe i found this hyper niche progressive Christian queer detective book. Looooooved.

Oh the dark parts were like really fucked up.

I have no idea why i read a book about female Appalachian writers and their writing process. I dont even like writing. But i loved the sweet stories they shared about their families

I loved this book. Felt like talking with a really knowledgeable friend about the area. Covered a long span of time up until recent. Great book to get an understanding of the area. I got the impression that the author is… humble.
