PORQUEEEEEEEE? Esse livro não foi nada do que queria, não queria Mare com Cal e sim com Tyton, não queria a morte de Maven, affs…

I found the first 100 pages to be boring, but the pace picks up after that. You will have to read through an immense amount of angst between Mare and Cal (as they broke up in the last book.) A lot of repeat moments of the characters swooning over each other and reminding themselves they need to stop swooning. A lot of boring political moments were boring as well. I skimmed through most of the 100 pages as quickly as possible.

BUT... once the fighting and intrigue begin, the story takes off. The rest of the story is worth reading.

In the end, I felt like there was still a story left to Mare Barrows world and maybe there will be more stories about her in the future. One can hope.

War Storm is a flawed, but ultimately still a great, ending to Victoria Aveyard's Red Queen series. I'm thrilled that Maven was FINALLY a P.O.V. character in this book. I loved the chapters that were written from Maven's point of view, and I wish that there had been more chapters in the book that were written from his point of view. Maven has quite possibly always been the best and most interesting character in the Red Queen series. While I also really enjoyed Evangeline's, Iris', and Cal's P.O.V. chapters, I do think that there was still a little room for improvement on Aveyard's part when it comes to using their chapters to give the reader a deeper insight into who they are as characters and why they are the way they are.

Even though I think War Storm is a very action packed book, I did think that the overall pacing of the book was somewhat uneven. At times it seemed like a lot was happening very quickly in the book, and then there were times throughout the book that it kind of felt like not a lot was happening; or that aspects of the plot were being dragged out a bit too long. Despite my issues with the pacing of the plot, I ultimately found War Storm to be a very addictive book, and I'm extremely excited to read Broken Throne in the near future.

My Rating / Score: 4 out of 5 Stars on Goodreads' rating system. 8 out of 10 on my own personal scoring system.

In order to win this war Mare has to side with the man who broke her heart in order to take down the man who almost broke her. The hardest part of this all is that even though she must kill the boy that almost broke her she still cares a little and doesn't want to hurt him she knows that in the end there is no changing for him. This story is about gaining back control and making sure that no one suffers the way that they did before the revolution. This book had my feelings all over the place and the rollercoaster ride that I was on made me love and hate so much. The unlikely people that ended up being allies to not just the case but to Mare was both surprising and intriguing. The point of views that you get helps bring the story full circle.
