Thank you Goodreads, Laura Trentham, and St. Martin's Press for providing me with a ARC of this book.

This is my first book read of Laura Trentham. This is definitely a touching contemporary romance story. Even though it is the 4th in a series, it can be read as a stand alone.

Wyatt and Sutton are from different sides of the river. Wyatt had a crush on Sutton since childhood. When Sutton discovers that her fiancée has been cheating on her with her best friend, Wyatt is there to assist her in getting revenge. What starts as a business arrangement turns quickly into a romance between the two. I was rooting for Wyatt and Sutton the whole time while reading.

I am looking forward to reading other books by Trentham, especially in this series.

LEAVE THE NIGHT ON
(Cottonbloom: #4)
Written by Laura Trentham
2017; St. Martin’s Press Paperbacks (350 Pages)
Genre: series, fiction, contemporary, romance, small town

Rating: ★★★ 1/2

We return to Cottonbloom, but this time we meet the Abbott brothers - four brothers running their family business - fixing and restoring cars. Wyatt Abbott, one of the twins, is set to work on Sutton Mize's fiance's car for a big commission for the shop. As he empty's the car's glove compartment he accidentally unleashes heartbreak for Sutton. They find receipts for fancy dinners and a thong underwear that was custom made by Sutton for her best friend, Bree. When Andrew, Sutton's finace, and Bree confront Sutton together she tells them she has been cheating too...with Wyatt.
Wyatt, who has always had a thing for Sutton as kids, readily agrees and the two end up falling for each other.

I really liked this one! I found Wyatt so endearing and I could relate to Sutton (like I could with Tally). Even though I knew they were destined for a HEA I was invested in seeing how they would get there. We do see some of the characters from the first three books come through so it is a nice surprise if you have read them before. If not, they just seem like random characters with some importance and they are overly described for the part they play. I recommend this series...and is perfect for the remaining weeks of Summer.

This is book four in the Cottonbloom series and I did read the first 2 books but I didn't read the third but you don't really need to read all the books to be able to follow the story.

This is a cute but predictable romance. I did enjoy this book though and I liked the characters. I did shed a few tears while reading this story.

I give this 3 out of 5

Laura Trentham tugs on reader's heartstrings with Leave the Night On, the latest addition to her heartwarming Cottonbloom series. Although this newest release is the fourth full length novel in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

After Sutton Mize discovers her fiancé Andrew Tarwater and her best friend Bree Randall have betrayed her in the worst possible way, she panics and invents a relationship of her own to save face.  From a prominent Cottonbloom family, she is finally beginning to chafe under the weight of her parents' expectations.  However after a lifetime of never rocking the boat, Sutton finds it difficult to make choices based on her needs instead doing what other people want her to do. After she comes to the realization that she is living a somewhat bland life, Sutton is ready to take a bit of a walk on the wild side, but will she be able to overcome a lifetime of  worrying about what other people think of her?

Wyatt Abbott co-owns a garage with his three brothers and nearly a year after their father's unexpected death, everyone is somewhat out of sorts. He is feeling a bit restless but he cannot quite pinpoint the cause of his dissatisfaction. Wyatt has absolutely no qualms about agreeing to help Sutton salvage her reputation, but his longtime crush on her quickly complicates things for him.

Despite their very different childhoods, socioeconomic backgrounds and careers, Wyatt is comfortable in his own skin so he has no difficulty fitting into Sutton's life.  While Sutton is pretty keen to expand her horizons, she is a bit unsettled when confronted with new experiences.  Wyatt's confidence in her is instrumental in helping her step out of her comfort zone both personally and professionally as she attempts to make positive and long overdue changes in her life. She has several misconceptions about Wyatt and although these negative assumptions do bother him, Wyatt never hesitates to set Sutton straight when she misjudges him. A sizzling hot attractions underlies their easygoing camaraderie but will either of them find the courage to turn their fake relationship into a real one?

Readers' interest will be piqued by several tantalizing glimpses into Wyatt's brothers' lives. Mace has the weight of the world resting on his shoulders as he worries about the future of their business. Wyatt's  twin brother Jackson is embroiled in a very intriguing situation with co-worker Willa Brown.  Ford has fallen WAY out his brothers' good graces with his secretive behavior and it will be very interesting to how their relationship with him will fare in the future.

Leave the Night On is a delightfully charming romance that is fast-paced and engaging. Wyatt is a sigh worthy hero with enormous appeal.  Sutton undergoes the biggest transformation as she finally begins to discover who she is and what she wants out life.  One of Laura Trentham's greatest strengths as an author is her uncanny ability to bring the town and residents of Cottonbloom vibrantly and realistically to life through her vivid descriptions and brilliant dialogue.  This latest installment of the Cottonbloom series is absolutely marvelous and will leave readers impatiently awaiting the release of When the Stars Come Out early next year.

This is Book #4 in the Cottonbloom series.  Sutton has been through a lot in such a short period of time.  She not only finds out that her fiancé has been cheating, but with her best friend.  Now Sutton is not sure about anything in her life.  She asks Wyatt to be her fake boyfriend.  I love storylines like this because as a reader the fake boyfriend turns into something real, but each of them don't want to say how they really feel.  Wyatt has always been a player.  Love them and leave them type.  Well, until Sutton.  Something inside him changed when he is with her.  Will Sutton open her heart to a man that would never hurt her like her ex fiancé?

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be my last.  I want to go back to read the other books in this series.

Not really my cup of tea. I couldn’t get into the story and found it to be too cliche. The characters just were not appealing to me. I tried to like this book but just couldn’t get there.

This is my first introduction to Laura Trentham. I LOVED the Abbott Brothers!!! Except. For. Ford. JERK.
Anyway, Wyatt and Sutton were good together. I say good because Sutton was just a little too, passive with her family. This book was a little too much "high society" meets "across the tracks" for me. I loved the opening! That's what caught my eye and made me pick the book up. I'm definitely interested in reading more of the Abbott brothers. I would love to dive into more of the small town of Cottonbloom.

My Wyatt & Sutton:

Wyatt is the mechanic extraordinaire. Yes, please. I have a soft spot for dirty mechanics. He works in his family-owned garage with his 3 brothers. He’s known Sutton since they were kids, but they grew up on different sides of the river. Wyatt has had a crush on Sutton since they were kids, but she was from another world, compared to his.

Sutton is
.was engaged. Without spoiling anything, her heart is broken early in the book, and Wyatt happens to be right there when it happens. A quick bond is formed between them, and to save face, Sutton volunteers Wyatt to be her fake relationship to get back at her previous fiancé.

To Sutton, Wyatt is dangerous. Her feelings are honeyed and gooey and a little bit scary. I loved the attraction between them. Wyatt is the perfect blend of sexy, good guy with an edge. He is the adventure in life that Sutton needs. It was a slow burn, but worth it in the end.

“I heard you’re good with your
wrench.” Her glace down as instinctive as her retreat had been. She held her breath in the ensuing stillness.

“Out of all the tools available, you didn’t pick screwdriver?” He bobbed in to lay a kiss on the tip of her nose. “You’re so dang cute.”

I love me a good fake relationship story, especially when it starts to become a little less fake. I loved the small-town, southern feel of this book. It was relaxing and these two were so adorable. I had been wanting to read Laura Trentham for a while, and I’m so glad I finally did.
