Ze začátku jsem byla vážně nadšená - fantasy svět s vránami zněl naprosto fantasticky...
Bohužel z toho vyklubala kniha na způsob [b:Princezna popela|43979313|Princezna popela (Princezna popela, #1)|Laura Sebastian|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1549980646l/43979313._SX50_.jpg|53100842], tedy o dost horší verze.
Je tu spousta zbytečného popisu, stejně si ten svět nedokážu představit, protože mi tu chyběla nějaká ta mapa a dějově je to hodně špatné (většinu knihy se nic neděje).
Druhý díl si nejspíš přečtu, pořád mě zajímá, jak to dopadne
Spoiler (překvapení s ukradenými vajíčky se mi vážně líbilo)
, ale vážně doufám, že to bude lepší.

The plot twists were a bit too easy and did not convince me even less with the end reveals... Seems unbelievable.
The magic system is quite interesting and I like the main characters development.
The book is really slow to move to the twist/action parts and the end feels almost too rush like you finally get to the fun part and the end.
Might grab the following one to see what comes next

"A great, fun, and easy YA Fantasy!

Thia is a princess in the kingdom of Rhodare who dreams of nothing more than to be a crow rider. Yep, that's right a crow rider! These aren't just any plain birds, oh no. These are giant birds that have affinities for certain elements! Storm, shadow, healing, etc. They're like dragons...but with feathers instead of scales!

These crows are basically the backbone of Rhodare’s power. Until a neighboring kingdom wipes them out. Months later, Thia is drowning in depression, trying to cope with not just the loss of all the crows, and thus her dreams, but also her mother.

Her sister, now queen, wants to give Rhodare its best chance at survival and so she decides to marry her sister off to the prince of the kingdom that wiped out Rhodare. Arranged marriage trope, anyone?

Before Thia leaves with the prince, she finds a crow egg and secretly takes her with her, fully intent on hatching it during her forced time away. She’s going to save her kingdom her own way, even if it means making friends with the enemy of her people. Do I smell a possible enemies to lovers situation? Ooooh yeah.

My final thought on this book is that I love the depiction of depression in this book. It was so well done and very relatable.

4.5/5 stars!

Thank you Sourcebooks Fire for the ARC!"

So, okay. The feelings for this book are hard to describe.

Let's start with the good things:

- very cool concept for the world
- I liked the writing!
- I liked Thia for the most part
- I love Res!

Cons:
- the Stakes did not feel heavy enough for most of the story, as if weight was missing
- I don't know if I like the direction of the romance subplot is going

I like the book and I think I will read the second one... But I have strangely complicated feelings for this one XD

P. S. The cover is simply beautiful!

I feel like this was a very typical plot of a YA series in this genre. However, I am desperate for a cunning FL. In Ash Princess she was so depressed that she did nothing, in this Thia was so hotheaded that she didn't have a cunning bone in her body. Also, I think it's kind of unbelievable that the Evil Queen would just let her hostage princess go "work" in the city every day. Why weren't you more suspicious that a new girl just happened to start working there after you go visit everyday???

I want more Slytherins and fewer Gryffindors lol
ALSO! I loathe love triangles as the FL tends to pick the one I don't want her to, and surprise, surprise, she picked the one I didn't want! lol

Also, you lost your chance to destroy your enemy from the inside by being so hotheaded and predictable. idk, I just need more High Ladies in books

I got the next one as an ebook so we'll see how that goes. If I like it, I'll eventually get it in a physical copy lol
