Angel

Gabriel Collingwood will do anything to protect his sister and that includes running off the ex-con who has attached herself to Violet. But not even his Navy SEAL training can prepare Gabriel for the intense attraction he feels for Jordan Reiss, the town outcast, who is determined to make amends even for crimes of which she is blameless. Can Gabriel get past his preconceived notions to accept Jordan and will she let him past her defenses?

Jordan is another of Crouch's damaged yet exceedingly sympathetic heroines. Similar to Anne and Charlie in the first two books, Jordan's past consists of one tragedy after another, and it is clear that she deserves her happily ever after. Her opposites-attract romance with Gabe is delightful, and it is fun to see him lose control and give in to his desire for Jordan. Although he is often overly judgmental and quick to lash out when angry, it is clear that he loves Jordan, and their chemistry is incredible.

Unlike the previous books, the suspense plot comes in toward the end with the
Spoilerreappearance of Jordan's con-artist father
. While this twist is not completely unexpected, it is interesting to see how it plays out and the way in which Jordan and Gabriel handle the situation.

My one minor nitpick is that the town's despicable actions toward Jordan are glossed over too easily at the end, and the resolution of this subplot is a little too saccharine for my tastes. There are several characters who get off far too easily for their behavior toward her.

All in all, an excellent addition to what is rapidly becoming a favorite series.

Protective MC & Hurt but resilient FC. My absolute favorite!

This is my first ever book by Janie Crouch and I'm in love. I devoured the story in two and a half days and I'm ready to give the whole series a go!

If you're looking for a hurt but smart heroine with a difficult past and all odds against her, and a very manly, protective alpha but without the douchiness then this is perfect for you.

I loved how deeply the characters felt and how Jeanie wrote their perspectives and feelings. It felt so natural I was completely immersed. Jordan is definitely one of my favorite FC I've read. She has been through so much but still stayed kind and loving throughout the whole story.

Also! Thank the heavens for the GROVELLING. It's always the best kind of spice.

I mean, it could have been waaaay longer, the MC didn't grovel enough but then again, he was so so sweet and protective of her throughout the whole book you could tell from a mile away that he really loved her, so it didn't really matter.

I have to say though, the synopsis played me!

I was preparing myself for some sweet sweet slow burn, I thought the main characters were going to take their time warming up to each other but 5 pages in and they were already going at it. I'm usually not a fan of that, but Janie's writing style and her perfect mix of relationship, angst and suspense was fantastic. Also, it's not too heavy on sexual descriptors, which I appreciate more than anything.

It was going a little bit too fast. I think you need to read the other books as well for this

I love this series. I could not wait to read about Jordan and everything she has been through. Wow! Sweet, amazing, suspense all rolled into it. Gabe and Jordan weren’t looking for love, but they fit together perfectly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks to her father cheating the town’s people out of money then disappearing, Jordan has been called a thief, a liar and a con artist. It was her father’s deeds that wrecked her life, and now another name has been added to it after falling asleep behind the wheel and killing two people. Murderer.

2

Her boss’s brother offered to pay her to quit her job so that she could not con his sister. She loved working with Violet, so he won’t make her quit.

Gabriel, aka Angel, makes a fool of himself when it comes to Jordan, insulting her twice in a short time. He never expected that she would ever speak to him again. Gabriel saw how the people of the town treated Jorden when the bakery burned and she was hurt. That made him swear to be her garden angel.

Each seems interested in the other and they both share a love for coding. But when things get better, an old ghost appears. Things will get heated and their relationship will be tested.

I enjoyed the few glimpses of these two I saw in the previous book and I loved reading their story from their viewpoint. Ever since Jordan was introduced in the series, I’ve been curious about her. She seemed lost and lonely. Having Gabriel as her champion only added to her strength to face the world. I love Gabriel, but he kept saying all the wrong things when he got angry. Jordan had enough of the townspeople’s hurtful words, and he was proving them right. I also loved how he would own up to every wrong he did. These two are a favourite of mine now.

4

I enjoyed every word in this book. From its annoying, steamy, romantic moments to its heartbreaking ones. Everything about it is good, from the plot to the characters to the setting in Jordan’s land. Seeing glimpses of Dorian and his Wraith makes me more excited about reading his book.

This romance suspense series is a favourite of mine.

I DNF'd this when I realized this was going to be a story about a whole town bullying one person.

Ah, Gabe. To say I wasn't crazy about Gabe Collingwood in the last Linear Tactical book would be a fair statement, but he did show some redeeming qualities so I was excited to read his story. Gabe is all alpha male and fiercely protective, often to the point of saying and doing the completely wrong thing. At the same time, he loves with his whole heart and reacts without thinking when he thinks he's been betrayed. Jordan is broken and full of self-doubt and recrimination. Life hasn't been good to her, and she doesn't expect anything better. This pair may not be perfect, but they are perfectly right for each other. Of course, it does take them some time to get there, and life throws them a few more curve balls along the way, but the Linear Tactical family protects their own like nobody's business, and family by association is still family. Gabe and Jordan's story is everything I expected and more. It's emotional, steamy, and at times, heartwrenching. Add in the intrigue and action that this author does so well, and it's a well-rounded, solid addition to this series. Angel is part of the Linear Tactical series and past characters do appear in each book, but can be read as a standalone. However, once you've met these wonderful characters, you'll want more of them.
