Solid 4āļø
I actually really liked the lore of this story. The plot was good and kept me super interested but itās like there was an ingredient missing. Maybe it was me wanting more of the information on the lore. Thatās the only reason I couldnāt give it 5 āļø
I loved the love story of Lucca and Viviene. However I wish Viviene was way more of a clever badass. She had her moments but she seemed kinda meek. Lucca was amazing! Everything he said was perfection with the spice. Loved the spice completely! It was cute and fun and sorta twilight-y.
Iām interested in seeing Saxon and Auroras story. I hope it gives more lore this time. And spiceeeee!!! The trope of ātouch her and dieā was a new one for me but I ended up loving it and wonder what kind of trope the second book will follow.
I hope the characters we met in the first book donāt just fall out of the story after this. Really loved the characters!

It was cheesy as hell, but damn was it entertaining. I stopped reading after a few pages then came back and read it nonstop. And Iām paying for it since its 5am right now and I have to get up in a few hours.
The story was..interesting. The romance, fine, it was kinda spicy but what intrigued me the most was the plot twists and stuff. Tbf, the main protagonists were bland, and a big clichĆ©, so I wasnāt that much drawn to their romance. (I still enjoyed it though, but not as much) So surprisingly, for me, the curse was what kept me going. Woah. I kinda want to read book 2 now. In a book full of clichĆ©, I didnāt expect the story-telling to be this decent.

I listened to this on audible and really enjoyed this
I liked the twists. I had the feeling she was an ancestor didnāt think she would be from the past
That was cool..
bane was a dick.. so Iām glad he got his comeuppance.
Iām 20minutes from the end and I hope thereās a wrap up with the ghosts in the catacombs..
I liked this book a lot :)

The over-arching plot is interesting. I like how the romance is tied to a in-world mystery, as well. I thought the focus was very much on the plot and so the characters were a little flat at times. Itās a lot of āI do this because thisā in the inner monologues. Itās not my favorite way of writing character development but it works. I enjoyed that by the end I could remember moments throughout where their true feeling for each other started to show. But the romance wasnāt the whole show.
