*I received a free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

This book is a treasure-trove of information.

If you experience abnormal menstruation, want to know how you can support your hormones naturally, are curious about hormone-free methods of birth control, you should read this book. Everyone who has a cycle should, honestly. I've researched and been interested in periods for a few years, but still came across information that was new to me while I read. Nicole presents her knowledge, experience, and opinions in a way that is clear, concise, organized, and science-backed.

The first part of the book is a walk-through of different conditions and symptoms a woman might experience, as well as a picture of what a normal period should look like. The second part contains a six-week protocol to getting your hormones on track, with detailed explanations of the methods chosen. There are specific advanced protocols for certain things like endometriosis and PCOS. There is a section on hormone-free birth control. This book is like the period Bible, full of resources and wisdom.

I highlighted huge amounts of material and learned so much. I can't wait to get the physical copy in my hands once it's published. Thanks, Nicole!

Fix Your Period gives an in-depth insight into a woman's cycle and the many factors that can and do affect it, as well as guidance for women to understand what is going on when you have your cycle as a whole. Jardim provides an easy-to-read, educational material teaching women of all ages what a healthy menstrual cycle should look like and what are warning signs for health complications.

In the six-week program that Jardim outlines for readers provide scientific backing as well as logic to help bring your body to a clean start and improve menstrual cycles. The program also is great to get your body into a healthier state of being overall - you learn through reading Fix Your Period how much your cycle connects to everything else in your body's functions and vice versa.

I would recommend Fix Your Period for any period-having person as a great guide for educating yourself and improving your overall health in a relatively easy to do way, with support and guidance.

The science on how all of our hormones and systems work was fascinating and I learned a lot from that. I also feel like I better understand how interconnected our bodies really are (why did I not learn this in school?). Some of her suggestions, however, were a bit unrealistic to "normal" people- and even highly privileged. She also recommended things like vaginal steaming- which from other research I have seen, isn't really a helpful tool. Anyway, the science was great, but I'll be looking elsewhere for more realistic recommendations.
