Eroan Ilanea, you’re my everything. I don’t need a dragon, I’m all-dragon with you. I’m not going anywhere, because I have everything I need right here. I love you now, I loved you yesterday, and I’ll love you a hundred years from now. I’m never going to stop loving you because you’re my heart and my soul and my reason for living.

Note that this is a very biased review of this book. I love all these characters so much that cannot speak poorly of them. I found the story a little difficult to get into, but - once I settled back into the world - I found myself smiling at their cute little shenanigans. It by no means has to be read for a complete experience of Nash's world, but it is a lovely conclusion to the whole series.

Please be aware that you should read all four other books (excluding the novellas) before reading this one and the trigger warnings for the other books still hold here, although the subjects are mentioned and not occurring on page.

The two brothers really needed to talk, and thanks to the two elves, at least they managed to. Lysander finally knew the truth about Akiem and they manage to work things out.
Zane and Eroan somehow find in each other a person to talk to about their relationship with their dragons, and it was refreshing to see.

Perfect ending

Ariana Nash brings the Silk & Steel series to a perfect crescendo with "Reunion". All the ends are tied up in a wonderful package in this finale. I can honestly say I don't hate Akiem quite as much now, and Eroan and Lysander still give me all the feels.

Oh, this was a brutal world! It was called Dark Fantasy but I am glad the darkness depicted the world not the relationships of the MCs. Since this is technically Pippa DaCosta, I expected the lies and betrayal from the Messenger Chronicles, so not the case and believe me, that was a relief! Just broken and scarred dragons being loved and healed by strong elves. Not the usual light in which elves have been depicted in other series for sure. Will check out other series under this pen name.
Only point of contention, did Lysander and Akiem have to suffer so?

AHHHHHHHHHH

I've hoped for Lysander and Akiem to meet again and talk. I was also curious about Eroan and how he would behave toward Akiem after all what has happened during the war.

But! I think I've never hated Eroan as much as in the first half of the book. Like, JESUS, shut the fuck up! He got some serious protag issues. Not everything is about you, Eroan Ilanea. I was glad though, that Lysander told him that too.
I was also mad at Lysander and how he treated Akiem. He, too, had some God-complex with
i aM tHe dRaGoN KiNg, i Am eMeRaLd
Yes, Lysander. You're a good boy and my heart ached for you in the last two books of Silk & Steel, but bro, u need therapy with that darkness inside you.

My heart hurt so much, when they finally talked. AND AUTHOR, Y U NO TELL WHAT LYSANDER SAID TO MAKE AKIEM LAUGH???? I wanna know why my poor lil baby laughed. :c

Lysander experiencing a culture shock made my day though:

"Scales?" the elf asked.
"What?"
"Your scales?"
"Er..." Was he asking if he had scales? Did some dragon not have scales? Was that a thing here?

"How big are you as dragon?"
"That's kinda personal.2
(...)
"I'm big." Lysander grinned, relaxing a little, now he had some of the door-elves on his side.
"The biggest"

Sassy Zane again
"Then why is his scent all over you?"
"Probably because we fucked before I came here"

Akiem purring, after Zane stood up for him is just *chef's kiss*. Love it. Also thanks, dear author, for the image of Akiem wanting to shift into a dragon and just curl up in a ball at the slightest inconvenience. My poor heart <3

"You know I'll always keep you safe," he told the wind, hoping that wherever Akeim was, he'd hear him in his heart and come home.

This is the much longed for icing on the cake of the Silk & Steel series, where the dragon brothers are, as the title suggests, reunited. Of course it isn’t a simple as seeing one another and falling into hugs and back slaps. After all Lysander is an Emerald and Akiem has been conditioned since birth to hate, and kill, them.

Also Zane has heard about Eroan, and he isn’t happy to see his fellow elf. So in typical Ariana Nash style the path to peace involves lots of tail biting, some thrown punches and bruised egos. Plus an allergy to the grass. We are also treated to some incredibly hot moments alongside sweet and tender scenes too.

And now he truly was caught, and he couldn't think of anywhere else in all his travels he'd rather be, than pinned beneath Lysander, the Dragon King.

I loved this book, absolutely adored it because Eroan, Lysander, Akiem and Zane all have a space in my heart. I hated it too, despite it being everything I wanted it felt like a final goodbye to these guys that I’m STILL not quite ready to let go of. It simply means I’ll have to re-read the entire series, so that I can enjoy their amazing love stories all over again.

with all of him spread on the bed, he was a gift Eroan struggle not to unwrap.

Ariana Nash had me hooked from the first line to last in this novella, she stirred my emotions and made my heart bleed yet another time for the damaged little boy that is Akiem. I’m so glad he got to find his peace of heart and mind.

Of course we now need to see Akeim to show Zane his place of birth.
