it's been a while since I've actually read it, but I absolutely loved it. I remember not being able to put my iPad down as I was reading it. It has so many sweet moments and some heart-breaking ones as well, and they all impacted me equally even though I haven't read most of the events they're referencing. I love Scarlet Witch in general so I thoroughly enjoyed her redemption arc and the Young Avengers side of things was also great. I will be buying it for my bookshelf as soon as possible and will definitely read it again.

I fell in love with the series after the first page of the first volume, even though I'm not a big fan of time traveling plots (outside of Back to the Future and Quantum Leap). I'm very interested in the characters as well as their relationships, which is what keeps me drawn into any comic series.

Children's Crusade started off well and exciting, I was pulled right in, though after the third and fourth issues, it started to slow a bit, being bogged down with a lot of 'previously on the Young Avengers', time travel, and multiple characters being thrown about. I would have preferred the story to stay focused on Billy, Tommy, Wanda, and the Billy and Teddy relationship.

One of the best things about the Young Avengers (no matter what issue or collected volume you're reading) is the Billy and Teddy relationship (to me.) I'd love to have more of them in their down time, but I do like that we see how much they care about each other during missions and runaway plans. The relationship feels true and not forced.

So that is where and why the Scarlett Witch sighed out. Great story and art.

Heinberg's Young Avengers titles are all great. This is no exception. Setting up the Avengers Vs. X-Men titles, changing the game for most of the mutants, and finally adding a cap to House Of M, this is one of the few Avengers books that's necessary to read if you're an X-Men fan.

Overly complicated. And I just don't find anything about The Scarlet Witch to like - not her superhero name, her powers, or costume or even appearance - actually I do like her actual name. But this book filled in the holes between House of M and afterwards. And did a good enough job explaining who the Young Avengers are. And the various guest stars, whether X-Men or Avenger, actually looks and to some degree acted like themselves - except Logan. Wolverine must be really hard to write for and draw. He's not nearly the maniac that he is written as sometimes. They don't do nearly as bad with Logan as in other books but he's still a bit off.

While enjoyable, this book is very confusing. This is not a book that can be enjoyed by casual comic fans, as it requires a deep understanding and knowledge of the Marvel universe over the past 60+ years.
I am always happy to see books focused on the Young Avengers, specifically Cassie, Kate and Eli, but I really struggled with liking Billy and Teddy in this story. I always have a problem with Teddy's design, and it seems that he's forgotten Billy's name, only ever referring to him as "my boyfriend." Billy also, is unlikable. He seems incapable of accepting that his actions have consequences and that Wanda has been things other than his mother. Wanda was charming, and the way she was drawn was spectacular.
All in all, not entirely recommended unless you're a big Scarlet Witch fan, or you're interested in Avengers politics.
