I feel so bad for Paris, I mean really great twist there but I feel just terrible for him. I have no idea how they are going to fix that. I think I liked the first book better but what I loved about both books was that I never had any idea how the author was going to solve the problems that the characters were faced with. I think that Anya and Lucien's characters could have been flushed out more and that would have made the book better but too bad. I can't wait to find out what happens with Reyes and Danica because they are just so cute together, I also really really want a girl for Paris and I want Aeron to not be dead because it really wasn't his fault at all.

This is my second time reading it and very good though I have to admit I still like the first one better. I want a girl for all the guys even Torin. I can't believe there is only one more book in the series how are all these great men going to end up with women who complete them if there is only one more book!! Oh and I also want William to find his prophetical women too :)

Just found out there is a fourth, soooo excited that means there will probably be more after that!!!! Super excited can't wait to read about Reyes :)

I loved it! Lucien is my favorite Lord! Even though I found Anya a little annoying (and I think she was supposed to be) , even she grew on me. I can't wait for the next one.

Main characters: 2
Actual plot : 4
Spice: 2 (ANNOYING)
Ending: 3

I knew going into this that it was going to be cringe as ****.. why I stalled on reading it for so long. But DAMN.

Anya had the most cringe dialogue. I don’t hate her but PLEASE. Lucien, I was excited to read about him and I even like him but gawd. Their dialogue together annoyed me to no end. I wanted to CLAW my eyes out more than a hand full of times.

These two were just constantly horny for each other to the point that it annoyed the living hell out of me. They couldn’t have a conversation without the mentioning of something sexual. This ruined a lot of the book for me.

I had to convince myself more than once to not DNF this book. Do I regret it? Yeah .

Book 2 was such a disappointment compared to book 1.

Loved Paris though and any other characters that wasn’t Anya and Lucien

I loved this book! Anya is a great Goddess, and she's funny as well, and never says no to a new adventure. She's strong, and fairless, but still has a heart of gold. Lucien was really wonderful in this book, he was finally getting something good in his long, long life, and he and Anya are great together.
Their hunt for Godly artifacts was exciting, and I hope that we'll see more of them in coming books. Also loved all the romanting and love scenes, very well written.

The Darkest Kiss
4 Stars

Synopsis
Nothing makes Anya, the Goddess of Anarchy, feel more out of sorts than her attraction to Lucien, one of the Lords of the Underworld who contains Death within him. Unfortunately, Lucien has been ordered by the merciless Cronus, king of the Gods, to claim Anya's life and her soul. Given the unrelenting passion between them, will Lucien risk everything he holds dear in order to protect Anya?

Review
A tremendous improvement over the first book.

Lucien and Anya are amazing together - whether fighting or loving, they have tremendous energy and passion. Anya is a wonderful mix of naive, childish prankster and mature woman who fears letting down her guard long enough to find someone worthy of her. Lucien is scarred inside and out and doesn't believe anyone, let alone a goddess, can love him for who he really is. Seeing them overcome their insecurities is one of the best aspects of the book, but I was disappointed in the fact that the role of Lucien's demon is downplayed as opposed to Maddox's in the first book.

The story is entertaining as well - Anya's curse and the quest for the ancient artifacts are both compelling and well developed plot devices. The resolution of the first is good even though I had actually imagined a different solution, and the second comes to a partial conclusion. I look forward to seeing what happens with it in future books.

The secondary characters are excellent. From the diabolical Cronus (I so hope he eventually gets what he deserves) to Anya's morally questionable friend William. I also enjoyed the progression of Paris, Reyes and Aeron's stories, especially Paris and Sienna.

The writing is good and the incorporation of the Greek mythology is seamless. Looking forward to Dannika and Reyes's book next.

Better than the first one.

Anya is a blast! I love all the nicknames she gives to Lucien. Calling him "Lucy" and "Flowers" being my two favourites!

These books are incredibly easy to read. They are definitely more about the love story of the star couple than a plot driven piece, but there is an interesting background story happening that's just enough to keep you going.

We saw scenes from the POV of two other warriors in this book, Reyes, keeper of Pain and Paris, keeper of Promiscuity, so their stories have me intrigued now too after the little sneak peek we got of happenings in this book. I believe Reyes' story is next and am looking forward to it.

Most of the time, the first one is the best in terms of story because you learn about everyone and what the main story is. With immortals after dark, the story changes depending on the couple, and the main storyline kind of happens in the background, weaving each story into each timeline. With the black dagger brotherhood, the story does progress but focuses on the mate more than anything.

I feel with these, so far anyway, that it focuses on the main story. I mean, there was romance and stuff, but there's no 'penetration' as until the near end of the book. Not that they didn't do other stuff. But even that was past the middle. No, it's mainly spent getting to know the other, while going about their quest for Pandora's box.

As Anya is a goddess, or daughter of a goddess, this touches lightly on mythology, and Anya uses her information gathered from being a child growing up in that in that environment, to help find these four objects that help locate Pandora's box, which were hidden by Zeus. Dun dun dunnnnn!

Anya has a crush on 'Lucy' or 'Flowers' as she likes to call Lucian or 'death' as his demon is named, and this book starts with her trying her hardest - and succeeding- in getting a kiss off of him. And let me tell you, do I want a fucking kiss like THAT! Woo! Bring me the ice bath!

While Lucian is all scarred and stuff - we find out he did this to himself- and women tend to run from him in horror - his intention of scarring himself- Anya is enthralled by him, and they play a lot of cat and mouse not telling the other they like one another and abusing each other with nasty one liners and lies to hide their affection.

Lucian is particularly hateful as he is just as obsessed, but learns her mother is a goddess who beds everyone, and jumps to the conclusion Anya has also. Long story short, she was cursed as a kid, she's a virgin and Lucian makes himself look like an ass.

In this they look for a cage hidden by Hydra that makes the person in it unable to free themselves, and compels them to do whatever the owner asks.

P.S Cronus is a big fat douce-lord. Douche-lord of all of douche-town. If I was these guys, I'd bitch slap him back to prison. Gods or not. He's a huge twat. More annoying than a fucking blowfly. (Which is fitting because he watches them all invisible all the time, god knows when! Perv.)

anya is such a little spitfire, i love how she shamelessly pursues stoic, jaded lucien.

this book felt a bit slower until we got the two other side plots following paris and danika, which really helped pick up the pacing (and intrigued me as to what's going to happen in their books). i also wouldn't mind seeing more of william, he was fun.

lots of travel in this one gave it more of an adventurous vibe than the previous book.

I love both of the main characters in this book. Anya is strong and independent, Lucian is controlled and methodical, and they both totally mess with each others heads. The book was steamy enough, and the plot line had sufficient twists. This book was more about the plot as a whole than the last book, which was good, but some of it seemed too rushed. For example, when Anya went from "Your ok" to "I love you"...I felt a bit rushed for that emotional leap. Lucian was a goner from the beginning though. I am curious as to what is going to happen with Paris, and the hunter getting killed, tricky, tricky. Overall not to bad, but not as good as the first still...two more to go though, hopefully one of them will trump Maddox and Ashlyn.
