I think it's worth a read and gave it four stars because it kept my interest even though it's not my genre of choice. I think it's very good for a first novel and I will be recommending it to my customers who appreciate a good female-centric suspense plot. Even though I'm an empty nester, I so related to the pressure in our mothering culture. It's brutal and drives us all kinds of crazy. To take a group of moms and insert the reality of them all living on the edge just trying to adjust to life with an infant is a brilliant premise for wondering which one is in enough of a demise to possibly commit a crime.

Not sure how to review this one, but one thing is for sure the audiobook, Cristin Miliot, is probably the best narrator I've ever heard.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I was so engaged, and had a hard time putting it down. There was a twist, and you tend to feel sorry for certain characters, but some people are literally sick in the head, unfortunately.

Poor Winnie

May Mothers, ugh those daily emails!

This was a face paced read for me. I generally don't care for unreliable narrators, but the changes of perspectives kept me in the story!

I'm not even sure where to begin with this book. After reading the synopsis I immediately added the book to my ever growing TBR list. This book started out very intriguing and kept me interested in what had happened to Baby Midas. Where is he? Who took him? Why did the nanny not notice he was missing? Why is the mother not more upset? It did a good job at setting up a very compelling storyline that I was curious about. Not long after it started diving into the lives of 3 of the mothers from the Mommy group that the mother of the missing baby was a part of. I found it incredibly difficult to try and remember who was who and feel interested in what they had going on in their lives. I never felt like I couldn't put this book down. In fact I had to tell myself to continue reading, (i'm not a quitter when it comes to finishing books!). I was hoping for some moment to grab my attention and keep me invested in the story, but it never came. Even as the story wrapped up I wasn't even sure how much I cared what happened anymore. The ending was confusing at first and abrupt. This novel was just not my cup of tea. Not terrible but nothing I would recommend to anyone looking for a suspenseful book. 2/5

I picked this up on a whim because it was a Goodreads list as one of the best thrillers of 2018 (I'm desperate for new, good thrillers)... I enjoyed it! I wasn't super amazed by the first half of the book but the author did a great job at peppering in some interesting moments to keep the reader hooked. Without those little tidbits, I might have become bored or given up on this book, but they really kept me going and kept this feeling like a thriller.

The middle was a lot of questioning what was going on and the ladies of the mom group trying to investigate. It did drag just a bit, but ultimately, I was curious what happened and knew there had to be more beneath the surface.

Thankfully, the ending delivered for me! Some of it was maybe slightly over the top, but it was exactly the surprise I wanted. Maybe if I had been trying to pick things apart more, I would have seen it coming, but like many thrillers, I was happy to be listening to the audiobook and doing other things so my brain was partially occupied and I wasn't trying to figure out ALL the twists.

This was my first Aimee Molloy book and it looks like her newest thriller, GOODNIGHT BEAUTIFUL (2020) is very well received so I'm excited to read that!

Disappointed by the wrap up at the end because the book was enjoyable until I found the ending forced.
