Probably my least fav book from this author so far...but still an enjoyable read. Mostly it was a little weird to read the sex life of a character who was a literal child just a few books ago! Setting that aside, however, I also didn't necessarily love the idea of a throuple in this instance.

Tru being ace was wonderfully depicted. And I liked that Will was just already very accepting of him and made it clear from the beginning of both the book and their blossoming relationship that sex was not necessary for him or for them to have an intimate relationship.

LOVED THAT.

Which is why it felt a little cheap(?) introducing Cooper as their third. Like Cooper really only existed for this book to have sex scenes, which ok, this is a romance, but I think you can have a romance and not have sex -- which would have been amazing to see, considering one of the characters was asexual and  sex-averse. I feel like it would have been equally hot to have shown a scene with Will and Tru engaging in mutual masturbation. Tru mentioned not being averse to that idea.

I guess I just didn't like that it felt that just because one of the main characters was asexual, we needed to have another allosexual character.

Still a lovely book, but over all, probably my least favorite for this reason.

“Love is the easiest thing if you let it be.”

loved seeing asexual representation in a romance book and loved the specification that this is just one person's asexual experience and it's not a one size fits all sort of thing. especially loved that this character knew he had no interest in sex but still wanted a romantic relationship and he stuck to it throughout. loved that his best friend/eventual boyfriend (who wasn't on the ace spectrum and did in fact enjoy sex) would have been more than content to be in a sexless relationship as long as he had him, and loved that they said various times that sex isn't the most important thing in a relationship.

it did at times feel more like mc3 was an extra rather than being an equal since mc1+mc2 were together much sooner and the whole story was working towards the point of the triad officially being together, but they were all equals by the end and it was a natural progression so it makes sense. the ending sadly did feel quite rushed though and i think they deserved more time to show the deep conversations and established relationship. it was enjoyable overall, just wish we got to see more of them once they were actually together.

this was lighthearted with very minimal angst and the characters are all so sweet. i'm normally not one to read a whole series but if they're stand-alones then it can be fun, and i've thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and seeing the previous/future characters make their appearances throughout.

“And, maybe, someday down the line, it won’t even be a question. Maybe every kid will hear words like gay and ace, transgender or nonbinary, and know there’s no one right way to be.”

These boys gave off a lightness and loving feeling as you read about their summer together. Will and Tru figuring out their feelings for one another was really sweet and organic especially with Tru. Adding in Cooper and his happy energy to the mix rounded out Will and Tru nicely. I am loving this series so far.

This was such a well done poly book! Will, Cooper, & Tru are absolutely lovely together. They each bring something unique to their relationship and fit so well. I also loved how open & honest they all were with each other. The author did a wonderful job of developing each relationship in the triad. The ace rep with Tru was fantastic, he found exactly what he needed with Will & Coop who always respected his boundaries. My only complaint is that this wasn’t longer!
