I've spent the night reading this book, and as usual I've loved it just like any other Paige novel I've read. I can't believe that the author once again made me fall for the insta-love trope. HOW DARE SHE!!!!!
I loved Chandler and Genevieve's love story. It's different, it's exciting, and definitely heartwarming. It's one of those romance novels that makes you happily sigh.

NOPE. Not great writing, the lack of consent, nope. NOPE.

I LOVED this book. I'm actually really surprised, but I think this might be my favorite book from this Fixed universe. At least, so far. I'm reading this entire series out of order, so WHO CAN SAY.

I started with the first Fixed book with Hudson and Alayna, and then skimmed through the second one, and then months later started back with this series with the Slay books. What's funny is that I didn't know how much the fourth Slay book, Rising, overlaps with this book - Chandler. So, it was really interesting to read this book after reading Slay and seeing where Chandler and Genevieve fit into the story.

Content notes include misogyny, a weird bit about a girl getting confused if she was still gay after having sex with Chandler (she told him she was most definitely gay later on) but that whole bit was weird, and ableism.

One interesting thing about listening to the audiobook though, is that Joe Arden does a fantastic job. And it does help that I knew this book was published about 3-4 years before the Slay books, because bless his heart, Joe Arden makes Edward sound like a very NOT sexy, very old man instead of the hot man we've come to know (aka a young father when he had Hagan and Genevieve).

So, this book might be an unintentional comedy? I was laughing SO HARD because Chandler is just some young 24-year-old who falls in love too fast. And he's head over heels for Genevieve from their very first meeting. This book is very sexy and Chandler is very much known for his playboy ways, but he's also like an overactive puppy. He's just so sweet and caring??? I love Chandler. He's a little full of himself and what he thinks sex should be, but I can let that slide.

This book is told from a first-person POV, and I don't know what it is. I think Joe Arden added a lot to the story, because him reading as Chandler was just the best thing and adds a whole other layer to the book. I think his voices for the other characters were fine and his Genevieve was pretty good.

I mistakenly thought Chandler's book was a novella for some reason, and it wasn't until I was halfway through thinking that this seemed to be going long, but I finally realized this was a full-length novel. After reading the Slay series, this was the light-hearted book I needed, but still carries the kind of sex scenes we expect from Laurelin Paige.

This book has kinky sex, but Chandler is definitely new to the whole thing and feeling it all out. It scares him that he's into kink, because it's not something he knew about himself before, but with Genevieve, all of that changes. Genevieve is a child of Edward and his first wife, so is it any surprise she's into some light kink? I don't think so.

What I loved most about this book is that Chandler is definitely worried about what he's doing in all these sex scenes with Genevieve. He values consent a LOT and makes sure that Genevieve always has a way out and that she can say stop, and he'll definitely listen stop no matter what they're doing. I want more books with such explicit consent, because scenes can still be sexy with it!

What's definitely funny, or is it weird - that two very sexual scenes happen while Edward is in the room? They're discreet, and Edward definitely doesn't know anything happened, but Genevieve is BOLD. Chandler trying to get away with something while Hudson's unaware seems like a thing Chandler would definitely do (and he does) but Genevieve? That took me by surprise.

It's also kind of weird to read from Edward's POV in the Slay books and now learn about all the things his daughter is getting up to without him ever being the wiser. So, I would probably recommend reading this book before the Slay books.

Even though this is a book from Chandler's POV, I'm still glad we got to see Genevieve sticking up for herself against her dad, and how much she values being her own person. The dig against her mom makes me kind of sad, but only because we've come to know so much more about Edward's relationship with Genevieve's mother in the later series, I think. I adore that Chandler calls Genevieve "Genny" and that Chandler can be such a good match for her. She deserves to find happiness and with a guy who loves her as much as Chandler obviously does.

There is a tiny bit of added drama and heartbreak at the end, but it's fine. The characters are young, so miscommunication was bound to happen at some point. Especially when the topic of Celia comes up in conversation.

I'm that person who follows along with a book with the ebook open and listening to the audiobook at the same time...and I think we should acknowledge that the book has been edited since the first edition and the audio was produced. There's some minor tweaks in the text that wasn't in the audiobook - like the color of Hudson's eyes and Mirabelle (Chandler's sister) having a second child called Tyler. So that was interesting to catch.

We do see Hudson and Alayna in this book and their adorable children. Since I have not actually finished reading their books, I'm not sure which child was who's but all the kids were adorable. It's also somewhat endearing to see how utterly exhausted Hudson is watching after the kids. Would I like to see Mirabelle's story or Hagan's? I'm not saying no. Because I don't think we ever got Mirabelle's story? And I don't know what Hagan would add if we got his book, but if Laurelin Paige can convince me to like Celia, then I'm sure she can work her magic and give me something to like about Hagan at some point.

Overall, I really loved this book and can't wait to read more books set in this universe!

I never intended to read this book. I planned to stop with the fixed Trilogy. But I’m reading the Slay series Celia’s and Edwards story. At the end of the third book I was told to read Chandler for more of them. And since I’m still on a high from them, I would take them anyway I could get.

With that being said I still enjoyed this book. I laughed and smiled and loved these two together.

Spoiler: Laurelin Paige seriously can do no wrong!

As if I weren't already in love with the Pierce name, here comes the youngest of them, Chandler! All grown up now (sorta), Chandler is by his brother's side to help take on the family empire and keep on with his playboy ways. Until Genevieve, of course.

Chandler finds himself falling for Genevieve meanwhile Genny tries not to get involved. A whole lot goes down and I really liked the relationship that forms between the two. I love Laurelin and her sexy writing and I also loved that throughout this story, Chandler learns something about himself alongside Genevieve, and boy is it HOT. The dirty talk gets dirtier and how is it possible to write it so well? Their sexcapades were off the chain!

And can I add how much I wanted to cry reading about Alayna and Hudson and their cute little family?! I MISS THEM! Also seeing Nora, Boyd and their own little family was like a cherry on top! But I loved that we got some of Hudson and we got a chance to see the two brothers together. I was kind of scared we wouldn't be able to hear of them, just a glimpse and all, but I am so so glad we got more! I loved their brotherly love, even if Hudson was being...well, Hudson.

However, while this book was hilarious and I dog-eared all the funny shit that Chandler thought and said out loud, I couldn't give it a full 5 star rating because I felt there was unnecessary drama. I felt that a conflict was thrown in just for the sake of entertainment and length. It sounds bad, but it was quite interesting. There was actually quite a lot of potential for an actual conflict, but like mentioned, it felt added for entertainment, not really a great one written.

If you're looking for a book to make you laugh your head off, a really good erotic couple, or just want to see Hudson again, because we all miss him, I highly recommend picking this one up! I need more, Laurelin Paige!!!

This was interesting. I had a hard time liking the spoiled rich boy protagonist. Genevieve and Hudson together were interesting to me, and as usual, Paige's portrayal of the characters' psychology is fascinating.
