6/10, I was hoping that this interesting realistic novel would be a good one. It was not and looking back this was one of the worse novels I read and it was deeply unenjoyable all the way through and even then I thought the author did a lousy job on this and could've used the premise of this novel to its full potential. It begins with the main character dumping her boyfriend and oh wow, she gets instantly famous and where have I seen this type of story before so anyways she didn't want the fame at first and just wanted to party and do other things and she accepts the fame eventually so she then finds a brand new rather flat boyfriend whose name I forgot. However there were two really irritating aspects of this book that almost made me put the book down but I hoped it could get better and unsurprisingly it didn't. The first bad aspect was that Audrey Cuttler was just so frustrating to read since she was just another character in the line of memorable characters for all the wrong reasons and this time she shouts at her friend Victoria sometimes which might be a mood swing but eventually she developed her character and became a better person. The second aspect was the swearing, you won't believe this but I think the author tried to fit as many swear words into this novel and what was the result, it was an tedious slog to get through and now all the characters sound like they're furious all the time. If you like rise to fame books this one is for you.

What to say about Audrey, wait ... First of all, the song sounds great. I like Audrey, the kind of girl who really sticks out and who doesn't want to be changed by popularity. The book was good, but nothing more. First disappointment there were some mistakes like that the characters are in Hollywood and the author or translator is talking about Disney World instead of Disneyland also there, There's the fact that there are two chapters 39 but it was pretty funny. In short, no big mistake, but just enough to get annoying. I still enjoyed reading it . In my opinion, the English version must be frankly better. Despite the fact that the book is translated into French from France, it is nevertheless easy to read it. We quickly get used to the language of our French friends.

I chose to read this book just by chance. I didn't know what it was about, I haven't read the blurb. So, I dove totally blind into this one, and I cannot believe how much I liked it.
Audrey dumps Evan. And then he writes her a song "Audrey, Wait!". And then, the song becomes a sensation. Now, everyone knows Audrey's name. The cameras follow her around. And nothing is staying private anymore. But alongside all that, there's the guy she knew forever, James, always there for her. But Audrey still has to choose between fame and her normal life.
I always like books that have a little bit of the celebrity-life in them. And I really liked it that Robin Benway tried to explain the down side of being famous. And she nailed it. The whole concept of this book is well-developed. The plot is swift-moving, it is at times slow, but that's what you come to expect from contemporary books. And I didn't mind it.
The main characters are three-dimensional. Audrey is a typical teenager. She makes her mistakes, she has flaws, but she is altogether a great girl. And she feels real. You could connect with her on so many different levels. Most of the focus of this book has been given to Audrey, and the other characters were not really well-developed. I didn't mind that, either. But I DID wish that they were a little more developed.
The romance is at its very peak. It's sweet, slow, and real. of course, there are no overly steamy moments. and they are teenagers. They make mistakes, which is definitely normal. I liked the author's approach on the romance avenue. It didn't jump from "like" to "love" and I appreciated that.
Overall, this book is a cute summer read. One that you can enjoy on the beach, or on your front porch on a sunny day. One that is not overlly deep or supernatural, but is a picture of real life with a touch of fiction. And who doesn't like a twist to their normal lives?

This was cute and fun YA! I had a little trouble suspending my disbelief in regards to the way Audrey became famous, but the ways in which being famous played out seemed realistic and it was interesting to see Audrey trying to be a normal teenager under the spotlight. This was funny and well-written and just what I like in a light-hearted kind of YA book. I wasn't compelled to read it so that's why it doesn't get a 4 or 5 star rating-- being unable to wait to pick a book up again is a big component in my rating something above 3 stars. Anyways, glad I found it at the library book sale a few years ago and finally picked it off my shelves to read it!

This book was such a comic relief for me, especially after experiencing my own breakup. Poor Audrey must suffer from the publicity and paparazzi that follow her after her ex releases a one-hit-wonder about their breakup. Very funny, it cheered me up a lot:)

It's one of those novels that SHOULD definitely be turned into a movie. I would love to hear the Do-Gooders sing 'Audrey, Wait!' and I really want to hear all the awesome songs mentioned in this novel too. :)

I like Audrey up until the last few chapters. I really couldn't understand what the fuck does she want towards the end. I seriously wanted to hit her or something. I totally sided with Victoria during their fight coz she was so right about Audrey. Although I like James, I kinda wished Audrey would end up with Evan... ^^

I totally adore Benway's sarcasm, wit and humor. :)
