This book was mostly "meh" to me. I liked the story and thought it was interesting, but I felt like the art work didn't quite work.
Overall I thought the art was decent, but not for me. When looking at the panels it would occasionally seem like the artists forgot how to draw the female form so they just kind of went with what they thought a woman looked like and called it good.

I'm so familiar with the characters that I could tell everyone apart, and I really liked this peek into early days with Zee and Tad.

I loved the pictures and the captions. I had to read this since I read the first book in the Mercy Thompson series (which I still have to complete!) I would Highly Recommend this book to Mercy Thompson and/or Patricia Briggs fans!

The art was nice but the story was a little disjointed. I did enjoy seeing Mercy and Zee's first meeting. It would have been nice if the story was done from various view points, as the books are all from Mercys.

I'm not a big fan of graphic novels and Mercy Thompson did nothing to contest that sentiment. I felt the artwork was inconsistent, especially with Mercy herself. One minute she looks like a bodybuilder and the next she looks lithe. I found it quite distracting, I never knew which Mercy was showing up in the next scene. (BTW the lithe Mercy was better drawn, the bodybuilder version seemed deformed at times.) The story itself was somewhat entertaining but not very thorough and at times followed a weird time path (aspects I expect from graphic novels but this felt more extreme). Overall I do not feel it adds to the series in general and I found it very forgettable.

First and foremost, I've never been into comic books but because I'm absolutely infatuated with Mercy Thompson and have the HUGEST girl crush on her, I decided to go back and read this book, even though I'm almost finished with Blood Bound.
Basically, this book is the short and sweet back story as to how Mercy came to the Tri-Cities. It's the story of how she met Zee, Stephan and Adam. There's a small segment on Bran and Samuel and why she left Montana but honestly, Moon Called goes into much more of the back story on Mercy and Samuel and Bran.
Overall, cute story and I'm glad I read it. Easy read at only 112pgs.

A nice original story. Apparently they had two different artists. I liked both, but I preferred the one who did the second half. If you're a fan of the Mercy Thompson series and like comics, check this out.

I'm not really a fan of graphic novels (aka comic books). Like movie adaptations, they tend to move a story away from internal conflict and toward external conflict, and this one was no exception. Plus, there was enough barely-veiled nudity in this graphic novel that it pushed the line between art and porn.
All of that said...I adore this series and would even read a poem about it. And you get a little bit of backstory here that isn't shown elsewhere, so it's totally worth checking out of the library and reading while you try out a new chicken and Egyptian onion recipe adapted from Epicurious. Or maybe that's just me....
