Quinn and Graham
Rockstar romance

Another good, quick and easy Rockstar romance

Again I would have liked a little bit more from this book, but I loved Graham and his son!

This is a small town, second chance romance with a fun twist of rockstar/celebrity.

Quinn is the guarded and prickly drummer for popular rock band Hush Note.
She gets a call and heads home to Montana after years of leaving it and everyone behind.
She had big dreams and felt her family and hometown suffocating those.

Graham is the high school sweetheart/first love that stayed and built his life there. He’s very “every day man” and oh, so sexy.
He has a love for music, too. I love that connection between him, Quinn and his son! Pretty adorable and emotional moments come by way of that shared love.
It takes a bit to figure him out. Once I did, I really liked him!
The emotions felt real, no over the top drama. The romance is very slow burn.

The story isn’t just romance, it’s about family and all the messiness and emotions that come with that.
It’s about figuring out how YOUR life works best for you. It’s about forgiveness and acceptance.
At times I felt like it was a bit slow, but I also thought at times it actually enhanced some of the emotions and angst. That’s an individual preference thing.

There are some great secondary characters and storylines!
The hometown/family are incredible.
Her band mates are awesome! I love when they make appearances.
I think fans of romance on the sweeter side won’t be disappointed. (It’s not a gritty or dark rockstar romance)

I just finished up the Hush Notes series with book 3 Muses & Melodies by Rebecca Yarros. It gets 5 stars just like book 1- Lies & Lullabies by Sarina Bowen and book 2- Rifts & Refrains by Devney Perry. I was blown away- A perfect score for this trilogy!

I wondered how it would be to read a series by 3 different authors and it worked really well! Sarina is one of my go-to authors, but Devney and Rebecca are new to me and I was so so pleased to find I enjoyed their books and writing styles.

Rifts & Refrains:
This was a second chance romance with high school sweethearts Quinn and Graham. They were meant to be- it just took them a little longer to figure it out than some of the people in their lives.

Usually I don’t like churchy books. Im the opposite of churchy, whatever that is, and I tend to roll my eyes a lot when characters are religious because I have trouble relating. This book though- I didn’t mind at all! I kinda liked that Quinn wasn’t quite who I first thought she was. It gave her depth somehow to have these 2 totally separate parts of her life.

Muses & Melodies:
Nixon was so lovable even though he didn’t know it and even though he had a tough road to get there. I loved the cake scene that showed how thoughtful and sweet he was. Zoe was strong and independent. She was determined in her work life and also her love life once she found what she couldn’t live without.

Usually in a book I end up liking one character more than the other but this time I loved Nixon and Zoe equally.

I liked this one I think better than the first. It had a couple of lines that felt pretty typical Devney Perry (stroke for stroke etc), but I liked the conflict and found it interesting but one major flaw is it felt very similar to the first book in conflict and background with a slightly different flavor and even though it was written by a new author and about a new character I feel like Quinn would have learned from Jonas and taken his experience into account in her life decisions. The whole this isn't solvable felt pretty off because of that. I did love the way Nan played a role throughout the story and I enjoyed how Quinn reconnected with her family.
