Really enjoyed this book!
I'm quite the fan of Kody Keplinger, so I knew I'd like this one. It was less about sports than I thought it was, which is good as I'm really not into that at all. The cover is a bit misleading but most of them are now-a-days anyway.
Fast paced story, easy flow writing, and some unique, quirky characters! What I love about Kody's characters is that they're not your usual YA characters, they'll be different in some way and I always like that.
Also, the meaning behind the story is lovely, it tells us about friendships, honesty, and being comfortable with who you are and not letting people take advantage of you. Also family is important, and it's good to just be yourself.
It may seem cheesy and predictable to some people, but I'm never bothered by it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I recommend this one, definitely. I was suffering from a book hangover from Queen of Shadows and this book was the perfect one to help me through it. Excellent.

A good young adult read. A simple enough story but with enough depth to keep you wanting to read more. Definitely more suited to readers in their late teens/early twenties.

Decided to do a reread of this one during my vacation and I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH. It is funny how my views changed, as I don't mind the sex, even read books with plenty of sex in them. Mehsi 2013 would have been shocked if she knew. :P
I loved what the our girl thought of and what her plan was. I loved seeing the various perspectives on sex. From being a virgin to not liking sex that much to loving sex a lot. I am glad everyone could talk about it, though it took some time.
Randy... I don't know something was just off about him and I wondered how he never knew why his girlfriend is pissed. I mean... after so many times you would think something would enter that thick skull of his?
The ending was fabulous. I loved seeing the romance spark between Cash and our MC.

Really funny and wonderful book. :)

Normally I would avoid books that talk about sex to much. But this book had just the right amount of it. I really liked that it is based on a greek play and I like how that is also said numerous times in the book.

Reasons why I didn't like this book:
•The depiction that all 17 year old boys that play sport are absolute sex animals
•The idea that is you don't have sex with your boyfriend to satisfy him, he will cheat on you, and it's not his fault cos he just can't help it, he has needs!
•The overuse of the word 'slut' towards the one girl who has 'slept with half the boys of the football team'
•The vague and stereotypical portrayal of OCD and the response being to 'just chill out once in a while' instead of, y'know, getting therapy
•The sudden and recent death of the mother of the MC only being brought up when she needs advice on boy troubles
•The MC is truly not like other girls because she reads books
•The ridiculous miscommunication trope between the MC and the love interest
•The fact that the MC and the love interest ended up together... he deserves better and girl, maybe you just gotta be on your own for a while!!

Things I did like about this book:
•It was quick and easy to read, which was exactly what I was looking for
•The attempt at saying there is no shame in being a virgin, and that lots of people don't enjoy sex at first, or ever, and that's okay... even if the execution was poor

Did I have a lot of problems with this book? Yes. Did I think it was a good portrayal or story overall? No. Would I recommend this book? No. Did I enjoy reading it anyway? Yes. Do all books have to be works of genius or life changing to be enjoyable? I don't believe so.

Would I read it again? ...still no. But it did motivate me to finish some more books so it did do its job!

i love this book so much! what started out as a sex strike turned into a major fight between the boys and girls of hamilton high. there were moments where i wished the boys would just give up (much like the Lissa, the main character's wish) but of course, they'd damaged their thoughts way too much by literally beating each other up senseless, to even think about what's slowly disappearing from them, right in front of their very own eyes.

there was also one point where lissa became selfish with this whole "this sex strike is for the benefit of us all girls who are dating these soccer and football boys". i got so upset when one of the girls' actually was sad that she had to stay away from her respectful and loving boyfriend, confide to the 'leader', but was told that her boyfriends' wooing was just another way to make the girls lose.

obviously there's gonna be romance in this, involving one of the soccer guys, Cash. someone I'd managed to imagine his face as Cameron Dallas when he was a teenager. im not even a fan of him lmao.

the ending was definitely satisfying. knowing both sides got what they wanted, the lissa knows what she did (towards the extreme ends) was wrong, friendships were rekindled and a toxic boyfriend was left.

ps. chloe, the best friend is such a badass. i love her so much!
definitely a classic fave of mine from kody <3

This is the first book I've read by Kody Keplinger but it certainly won't be my last. I loved her writing style! The dialogue was believable, the characters were likeable and the author was able to get points across without being preachy. The sleepovers the girls had reminded me so much of the sleepovers I had in high school with my cheer squad. It all just felt so true. I can't wait to read more by this author!

I finished this all in one sitting! This book... was so capturing and sucked my right in. The characters were so well put together and there character development FOR EVERYONE. Many important lessons were taught in this book but it was HILARIOUS. The characters all had their own quirks and I LOVED IT. Lissa was annoying at times but I think that was because I was so into the book I just wanted to zoom through it and sometimes Lissa was just slow. READ THIS.
