Interesting book, though not sure if I will continue the series. Hmmm.

Found the "climax" had very little building to it...and was a very small part of the storyline.

Caitlin Tomas is at her wits end, trying to honor her parents wishes by getting thru college in four years. However, after her parents death she is struggling with four jobs and juggling college in order to keep her grades high enough for her scholarship. Hearing her lab partner in biology gossiping about the money she is earning pole dancing, Caitlin decides to see if she can get a job their too.

Co-Owner of Fuego's, Jake Stanton knows an innocent when he sees it, and Caitlin is pure innocence. Knowing he is not going to hire her, he is surprised of her tenacity at trying to get the job, however Caitlin surprises him again with her honesty and then deciding the job is not for her.

Jake wants to know more about Caitlin and see if everything she claims is the truth. Jake finds he can't stay away from Caitlin and has a plan to make her his own. He doesn't plan on Caitlin's need to make her own decisions and adverse reactions to help. He is hooked to Caitlin and plans to never let her go, but there is a dangerous person who is killing women attached to Fuego and has their sites on Caitlin.

This was completely different than I expected. Loved Caitlin, she is adorable and at the same time a force to be reckoned with. Jake was alpha male and I wanted more. I would have given a 5 star but there was one part of the story that I felt like was not resolved completely so now I wonder. Highly entertaining read.

LOVED this book! The characters are well developed, Jake is hot, the storyline has a little bit of everything--a likeable heroine, awesome girlfriends, suspense, LOTS of steam, some dirty take and oh yeah...Jake is HOT!! Some have complained/commented that the writing is too much like Kristen Ashley's because the author is a fan of K.A.'s and because of the way Jake speaks. While it's obvious that K.A. could possibly have had a certain influence, if you read the author's blog, you'll see how she came up with her "Jake-speak" and it was NOT from K.A. I hate that Ms. Hornbuckle is getting a few points/stars deducted here and there because of similarities between the way Jake talks and the way K.A.'s heroes talk, because there are certain men out there that do speak that way and one author shouldn't have the market cornered on it. The storyline was original and very well written, and I can't wait for the next book, Tap Dance, to come out! This is my kind of series!

Oh--two slight things I did not enjoy. Referencing the female anatomy as "pink parts" and the nickname "pretty girl". Pink parts was not at all sexy to me and pretty girl sounded like he was talking to a child.

Pole Dance is about a woman named Caitlin who is just trying to make it through college. She's a full time student who works four jobs to survive. She gets desperate when she hears about a girl who is pole dancing at a local club. She really needs the money so she goes in for an to interview for it.

There she meets the owner Jake. Who is a different kind of man that she has ever met. Things start to heat up between them when they start dating after her interview. But trouble brews when some of the clubs old strippers start turning up dead.

This book was okay overall. There was some things I liked about it. Like Jake, I really thought he was the perfect alpha male. And I also liked Caitlin a lot too. And most of the plot was good. But it all just felt so rushed. And I felt like Caitlin should have known a lot more about Jake than she did. Also that stuff with Sarah, when Jake lies to Caitlin yet that part never comes into play just drove me nuts. So I have to say overall its only okay. And I don't think I will continue the series it just wasn't for me.

I got this book because it was said to be KAish, I can see why some might say that. It was not in her caliber, but I could see it. I liked the leads alot, Jake says yeah like Max in The Gamble and Cait kinda reminded me of Jet. I will continue with the series, looking forward to seeing what she does with Ram.

I liked this book but I wish there was more to it. The climax needed to be heightened as did the suspense. While Jake and Caitlins relationship was fun, it came off as a bit fake and rushed. Overall I would definitely read more by J.A. Hornbucjle but this book fell a bit short.

This book surprised me. It was a very good surprise. I was expecting something quick and dirty, but instead I got great protagonists and a pretty decent story. It doesn't usually happen that I'm surprised by a storyline but this one was well written and fun. Caitlin and Jake were a very nice couple, although I do wish we had a more 'get to know you' type chapters. Overall I will probably read the next book.

For a book called Pole Dance I expected Caitlin to be a stripper, even more so because of the cover. She auditions to be one but changes her mind after the interview. I think this could have been better with a little more planning. There are just some things that didn't work for me. A storyline concerning her parents' estate seemed to completely get dropped. I'm curious to know what happens. There's an element of a killer in this story. That's supposed to be the huge dramatic problem. However the killer isn't stalking Jake or Caitlin. If the POV hadn't changed to random thrown in characters we would know much about the investigation. I stuck around to know who the killer was but finding out was a little lackluster. There was something suspicious that happened during the takedown scene that also didn't go anywhere. I just feel like in a book, everything should have a purpose. That didn't happen here. I think there was editing but there were still some errors, nothing that made it too difficult to read.

Very reminiscent of Kristen Ashley's alpha heroes, I gave this book an extra star just for the striptease right at the beginning of the book and the music selection. If you've read any of Kristen Ashley's work, this is not breaking new ground, (about the only thing that seemed out of place with this alpha hero his alternate mode of transportation...he had the prerequisite motorcycle, but driving a kia...yeah, not what I expected) but this series does have some promise and I'm willing to pick up more of this author's books and see where this series ends up.
