Die For Me intrigued me with its promise of a paranormal romance set in Paris.

All of the characters seemed underdeveloped, Kate, the main character was surface level, naive, and weak. Die For Me starts out with Kate recovering after the death of her parents, but I never felt the weight of her parents death. I thought it was a little odd that Kate mentioned school in the beginning, but then never mentions if she got friends there or if she was having a hard time adjusting.
Vincent, the love interest, kept saying how amazing Kate was and how he couldn’t live without her, but he never said what made her so great. The side characters were underdeveloped, there were three different boy characters, and I honestly can say that I could not tell the difference between the characters.

I did not feel that there was much substance to their relationship besides their infatuation for with one another. I also felt that Kate and Vincent fell in love unrealistically fast. But to Amy Plum’s credit, Vincent and Kate had their sexy moments that kept Die For Me worth reading.

A lot of the plot of Die For Me seemed to revolve around Kate and Vincent getting together. While I do enjoy a good romance.it got the point where most of the book was just the side characters urging the main characters to get together. I had never heard about revenants before reading Die For Me so it was interesting to learn of them in the book.

Overall Die For Me is not the first book I would recommend because it just did not bring much new to the table. I would recommend it for people who are fans of paranormal romances.

Wow. For starters, I liked everything about this book. Seriously. There was nothing I disliked. It was all well thought out and you could understand the reasoning for different things throughout the book. As for the characters? Love them. They were so well written I felt like I knew them personally. I absolutley fell in love with Vincent(Why can't he be real?) and I love he and Kate together. He's the ideal boyfriend. I also love Jules, he's funny, cute, and deffinitly has a thing for Kate which is really cute. Ambrose was also a fun character and I'd really like to learn more about him and his past.
This storylline was amazing and so original that I don't see how anyone could try and write another book involving Revenants. This book left me begging for more even though it didn't even end on a cliffhanger. Overall, amazing book, amazing stroyline, and I can't wait for the next!!!

I love this book! ... My only issue (and when I got past it, I was fine!) is despite the obvious precautions Plum took to ensure it wasn't instalove ie. Kates own denial about her feelings and little tantrums... there really was no denying it.... this lust fuelled lead character was definitely suffering from love at first sight!

HOWEVER! Don't let this fool you! This book is original... no sparkly vampires, shape-shifters or werewolves. Instead we have something quite different indeed. The plot was admittedly a bit slow at first... but when it picked up it was well paced. It was well written with likeable characters, and a couple of relationships that began to blossom made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (I just LOVE Charlotte)

I recommend to anybody who loves paranormal romance :)

Julia Whelan does a great job with these characters on the audio version of this story. I found the MC a bit annoying and don't remember that from reading the first time around but I am hoping that isn't the case going forward.

This was amazing. Maybe not the die-hard-screaming amazing. But amazing in its own way.

Amazing that the mc was weak while being strong. Amazing that in the midst of paranormal where there's hardly anything original, something is. Amazing that the setting was Paris and absolutely beautiful. Amazing that I WANT MY OWN VINCENT!

The main character, Kate, moves to Paris to live with her grandparents with her older sister Georgia after both her parents die in a car crash. Sheltering herself her family convince her to spend time outdoors which leads to her a cafe book reading session.

While the first few chapters were a slow start once the story pulled me in there was no going back. And I found myself respecting Kate's decisions to pull away from Vincent both understandably and a strong character development point for Kate. Kate, whom are the death of her parents, is too afraid to love in case that love gets ripped away from her again too.

The secondary characters were great and extremely interesting. I wish we had more time to get to know them all and I hope in the sequel we do.

There isn't much to say that I didn't like about this book. I was good. "Amazing" as I have stated (though that may be an exaggeration).

I loved it.

36.0% "I'm not going to lie. I actually cannot be bothered to listen to this. Pretty sure this book has been on my to read list since for ever but this book is well almost boring. I like that its set in France instead of the usual America BS but shes still AMERICAN. And i'm pretty sure its been mentioned that shes amazing for fluent french at least 5 times already. Boring :/"
50.0% "I'm actually happy that this book is nearly done. Audio books are so hard to go through but needs must while working"
50.0% "She is winding me up something chronic."
65.0% "She is on and off annoying. One minute its like okay you're not so bad, then she starts up whinging and its just so hard to carry on. I'm still waiting for something to go on, so far she is agonizing over lost love. blah blah blah"
77.0% "OK I was feeling a little bit better but "he's my sworn enemy" please. AND I could tell what was going on when I reached Chapter 31, thought since there's only 10 more chapters there is also a high chance it will end in a stupid cliffhanger"

I like to put on my status updates when a book especially annoys me. This is sadly one of those books. I don't hate this book but I certainly don't like this book either. Its just boring.

I'm working night shift and I'm struggling to keep myself awake which is not the point of books usually they help me stay awake.

I think I've figured out why this book is bugging me so much. Its because its a zombie book and I'm fiercely against zombie books or films so therefore this book was already going to be lost on me. Thank God I didn't pay for this book.

Ok so this review is very disjointed but this book was so bugging.

Die for Me isn't the worst book I have read, its actually a pretty good book for the writing. The story line for me just falls short. I cannot quite pin on what it is. It may be the zombie like fashion the author has made these beings act, or it may be how romance is 90% of this book.

As you can read from my status updates Kate just wound me up on and off during the book, she was just so immature. Vincent for some reason my mind wants to call him Michael. Now I'm not entirely sure why, it's a little bit annoying but Vincent just doesn't sit in my head. Him as a character is utterly lovable and I really like him - in fact I'd rather this was about him and not her. It may be the french romance that he brings out during this book and the way he treats her is pretty sweet and I love it.

Me being obsessed with calling him Michael may come from Morganville vampire series. Possibly! Although they aren't really the same but the way Michael treats Eve is almost the same as Vincent treats Kate.

I managed to spoil myself because I knew deep down I had some desire to know what happens in this series and I have a few theories and I knew I was going to be right. It was pretty obvious she was special and thus going to end up with a 'great' ending. Not all doom and disappointment I applaud Amy on how she described losing Kate's parents. From losing my own mum I can safely and sadly say that those emotions and actions Kate feels and does during those first few chapters sums up how I was after she died. Got to give her props for character development from Kate then to Kate at the end in love.

Super Quick Review
The paranormal aspect of this is very unique and I LOVED it!

The mystery behind Vincent unfolds in a bizarre way.

The beginning of the book is sort-a kind-a slow. Once things starting moving along I couldn’t stop reading. I was hooked by page 87!

There are lots of secondary characters that added lots of depth to the story.

I’m looking forward to reading the new book in the series, Until I Die, releasing in a few days on May 8!
