So... I'm low key obsessed with this series and with Dorothy as the main character.

Stolen Time really took me by surprise. But after loving the first book so much I should've known I'll love this one just as much... and yet. It still surprised me. Especially that ending.

Dorothy is definitely one of my favourite female protagonists now. She does an absolute 180 since the first book (reminds me a bit of Enne Salta from Ace of Shades) and she grows into and incredible badass and I love her.
The time travel aspect is fantastic. I love the way it works and that it makes sense (at least in my head). I will keep saying it until I'm blue in the face, but I love time travel and especially time travel that's well done! Give me more!

The world gets a lot more expanded in this one, too, and I'm living for it. I didn't even much mind the romance aspect because it was overshadowed by literally everything else. That is literally how I like all of the stories to be!

I can't wait for the last book. Ms Rollins left it on such a cliffhanger...

Oh. My. GOD. what kind of an ending is that?!
How long do I have to wait for the next book? Will I be alive until then or will the suspense kill me? Aarrrggghhh.

Events moved quite swiftly in this book, with brief flashbacks to how Quinn got her reputation and the Black Cirkus because what it is. Meanwhile Ash and his friends are frantically trying to decipher the Professor's notes and figure out anything that can help. In the process of doing so, Zora uncovers a pattern that brings a devastating realisation. Quinn and Roman have troubles of their own, with the other members of the gang having little loyalty towards them, eager to switch sides given incentive.

The main narrative is interspersed with log entries of the Professor and his various experiments and conclusions with time travel. It's a mad whirl of loops within loops, everything's happening the way it is because it has already happened. What will you do next?

The final revelation did not come as a surprise to me, but I have no idea what's gonna happen next. Eagerly awaiting the conclusion!

I am confused and yet intrigued at the same time. Also, none of this made sense.

Disappointed with the romance. Given the ending of the last book and the immediate events at the beginning of this one, we don't grow Dorothy and Ash's relationship any more, we just keep pretending that they're already in love (even though at one point very early on here, Ash says/thinks he's not in love with her, not yet) and that it's a sweeping soulmate sort of love. I don't buy it. It wasn't set up well enough in the first book if that's how you're gonna play it in this one, since you don't expand on it like at all.

Didn't love how Dorothy's character's growth/changes. I get that it was all leading up to helping the people and saving them, but the manner of going about it was so odd and bizarre. Also, given that she had to have come up with the Quinn Fox persona and everything at some point made it even stranger. And it was upsetting that ANYONE ever would work with/tolerate that shit bag Mac Murphy. Just end him.

It pissed me off that they never actually helped the girls enslaved under Mac. That really cost some of the characters a lot of respect I might have otherwise had for them. And if I don't respect a character, chances are I also don't like them very much.

I really like Roman, for the most part.

All in all, a pretty crappy middle book that lost some points for stupid character stuff, but I'm sticking around because time travel and I want to see how it all shakes out.

I like Dorothy's character development. We definitely see more growth and change from her than Ash. This book felt like more of a set-up book. It was moving pieces for a finale. So there really wasn't too much going on plot wise.

This book was, well, eh.

I like the characters. I liked the premise. It just felt weirdly paced. A lot of the elements felt pretty rushed, while other parts dragged a little.
SpoilerI wish Roman's character would have been explored more. I felt like his backstory was just sort of dropped into the story without really exploring what motivated him. It was like we were being told to empathize with him instead of liking him on our own.

All in all, I enjoyed this, but not as much as the first book. It was still a good read.
