What a sweet book! The book I expected to be the most kinky is actually the sweetest. Kristian is the Executive Producer of all the Quantum film productions. He always appears so put together, so self-assured, that you would be surprised to find him hiding in his closet, all freaked-out that Aileen is finally arriving in LA. She’s moving in with her kids, and will start working at Quantum in two weeks.
Aileen is excited because after a grueling year in which she battled cancer, she’s finally strong and able to get on with her life, and now in LA, with her best friend Natalie and the rest of the star-studded gang that compose the Quantum partners and girlfriends. She’s very disappointed that Kristian is not in the welcoming committee and wonders what happened.
Kristan had a very cruel childhood. Details are not revealed at the beginning of the book, so I won’t spoil the information, but it’s explained that his childhood was one of homelessness, violence in the streets, fighting for surviving. He feels that with his history, he’s not worthy of Aileen. She's a sweet and joyful woman, and even though she’s just battled cancer, she’s not bitter, she’s full of love for her children and friends. Once she realized that Kristian doesn’t feel worthy and that's the reason why he’s reluctant to start a relation with her, she takes matters into her hands and re-ignites their friendship. As Kristin sees Aileen interact with her children, he realizes all the things he didn’t have in his childhood and it brings his desolation up front, but he absorbs that love that Aileen bestows on him like he was in the dessert and thirsty of water.
The book doesn't have a dramatic bent, just a man finding his way home to a woman who fills his soul with the love and care he never had. What is astounding in this book, is that he’s so fulfilled in Aileen and her children that he doesn’t have the compulsion to the kinky stuff that was so necessary to him. From a man who was defined by his kinkiness, to the point that Flynn was concerned he would be too rough for Aileen, he changes to a man full of tenderness and concern, who only accedes to do kinky stuff because Aileen insists upon it. She’s so wise that she knows the kinkiness is another way to cure Kristian’s soul.
Some public nightmare stuff happens at the end, and as always, the Quantum group gather forces around and protect their own.
The beauty of this book is the togetherness of the whole group, the generosity and help everyone provides one another. This book doesn't have as much kinky stuff as other books, and it’s great because Kristian needed all that space for his rehabilitation, from wounded man to family man. I especially loved his creativeness to spoil Aileen’s kids without her knowledge. Silly man, doesn’t he know that mothers know all and see all? It was truly a sweet and lovely story, a perfect read in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

The Quantum series of books is probably one of my top picks - and this story brings in another new angle. Up until now Kristian has not played a prominent role but he finally steps up in this book. Intensely private, even his quantum family don't know much about his life before he met Flynn Godfrey, but he is holding onto a huge secret that has shaped his life. When he meets Aileen, a cancer survivor, he can't believe that someone can change his life so much, and that he feels so comfortable that he can share all his hidden angst. Aileen brings out the best in Kristian and between Aileen and her adorable kids, Logan and Maddie, she opens Kristian's eyes and heart to what a real family can be. As always, well written storylines suck you in and before you know it you realize that you need to put the book down or you're never going to get up for work in the morning!! (or is that just me?)

The Quantum series is one that I've enjoyed. Each couple brought a little something different into the family that has made up this erotic series. Kristian and Aileen's story has been one that I've looked forward to the most. After everything Aileen had been through, she deserved a HEA. And Kristian was the tortured kind of hero that I love. But their romance almost felt rushed and it took away a bit from their overall story.
Aileen and Kristian have almost the same level of insta-love that Flynn and Natalie had. But where that worked for Flynn and Natalie over three books, felt rushed in DELIRIOUS. Kristian had a lot of issues. Issues that won't go away because Aileen sat with him in his closet. And given how the book started with his issues of inadequacy rearing its head on a night he'd been looking forward to, I'd expect a little more hesitation on Kristian's part and the two of them really needing to work through what happened to Kristian.
Then there was Aileen's health. They both had significant issues when it came to Aileen's cancer and they looked at those issues differently. I would have expected this to be a major issue that needed to be worked through. Add in the kids and I needed more than the 248 pages it took to get through this story.
This doesn't mean it wasn't a great read...it was. But given the tough subject matter (which almost rivaled Natalie's) I wanted more to feel confident this couple had truly worked through the issues that popped up in order to believe the HEA.

As a fan of this series from the beginning I was very interested to see how Kristian and Aileen's story was going to unfold. I have to say I was definitely not disappointed. This was a one day read for me because I just couldn't put it down. Aileen is such a strong, joyful woman who appreciates all she has because she is a cancer survivor. Kristian is a broody, intense and perhaps a bit emotionally damaged due to his childhood and what he had to do to survive. This is a beautiful, emotional story of healing as two survivor's who find love in one another. It is a great mixture of sweet romantic moments, emotional reveals and some incredibly hot scenes. All your favorite Quantum characters are back and you will fall in love with Aileen's sweet children Logan and Maddie. I really enjoyed this book and am hopeful there will be at least one or two more in the series. I would really like to see both Emmett and Marlowe find their own loves.

Giving three stars because that's the best I can do. Didn't plan to continue this series, but it popped up on my library hold list so I decided to give it a try. I'm still intrigued by the characters and still enjoy the story-lines. I love their devotion to each other and they way they make their friendships a priority, but I'm so tired of the prominent role BDSM plays in their lives. These people are committed to busy stressful careers, yet they manage to spend an inordinate amount of time planning, thinking about, discussing and having sex. They must have more hours in their days that the rest of us.
It really bothered me that a recent breast-cancer survivor, still suffering from after-effects of her treatment, was able to jump into "the life" so totally and effortlessly. On the one-year anniversary of her diagnosis, she's more than ready to go for it. Such an unrealistic portrayal. Where the heck did she get all that energy while dealing with post-chemo fatigue and chemo-brain (by her own admission), not to mention mental insecurities and uncertainties, two children, a cross-country move and a new job?
Ms. Force threw some hints that maybe the Quantum group is also getting tired of the scene, so maybe the rest of the series can proceed a bit differently.

Aileen, a cancer survivor and single mother of two children, moves to Los Angeles to be with Kristian, Hollywood producer, friend of her friends, and her new boss. I guess she moved for other reasons, but this is the one she keeps saying. She's met him a few times before and it's insta-love between them. But there's also a lot of drama and melodrama going on.
They're both terrific people, especially Aileen who's a wonderful mom (we're told that a lot, but it does seem to be true). Kristian has a lot of trust issues and is tortured by his past. This relationship should work better, but I was disappointed by all the introspection that seemed more like whining to me.
I like Marie Force's books. I've read most of her Gansett Island and Green Mountain series as well as a couple of her Fatal books. This was the first book in this series I've read, and I just wish there had been more development to the story. It was just an okay read for me.
They're both terrific people, especially Aileen who's a wonderful mom (we're told that a lot, but it does seem to be true). Kristian has a lot of trust issues and is tortured by his past. I absolutely love this series and all of the Quantum characters. After we have been through so much with all of them, they feel like family to me and I hate to see this series end.
I have been looking forward to Aileen and Kristian's story and it didn't disappoint me. It broke my heart for everything that Kristian went through at such a young age, but it broke it more that he has held all of that in for so long. He doesn't think he deserves something as good as Aileen and her children, but she stands up to him and for him.
Aileen had also been through a lot and she is determined not to waste a day worrying about what could happen. She wants to live life at it's fullest and don't want to have any regrets about what could have been. They agree it take it one day at a time, but after spending time with her, Kristian is hooked.
I loved seeing them together and loved how their story ended.
