TW:
SpoilerPET DEATH. & it honestly felt super unnecessary and really didn’t add much to the story at all. It was super traumatic and not really ever mentioned again. Hit a little harder for me that normal since we lost our dog this year so maybe I was more sensitive but it just felt super wrong. (Pet is a hellhound, one of two and only new pets)

Where is this series going now? There’s so much left to unpack from here! So many characters interested me & I’m very keen to see where it goes.

Well. This was terrible. Teaming with mistakes that should have been caught by an editor and overall ridiculous. The idea was cute, but world building is an art that Showalter hasn’t mastered. I contemplated simply putting the book down and moving on each time I picked it up, but at some point I was too far in. The characters were very weird and obnoxious in a not-at-all-cute way. Did I mention the plot was ridiculous? It could have been cute, but there were too many cringe-worthy-writing moments. And attempts to be cutesy that just…weren’t. Also, the presence of sex in the book was gratuitous. Some sex makes sense, but I’d bet money that sex was mentioned just about every three pages. It felt like this book was written by a tween.

This was pee-your-pants good!

I didn't even want to put this down for a second and almost piddled my drawers a few times from holding it in for so long. I laughed so hard at some of Sunny's antics that I had to cross my legs and squeeze and hope I made it to the loo in time.

I loved both of these characters and their story. I'm going to be sad when this series is over which I believe this was the final book with the exception of Viola's story. I can't be too sad though because if the spinoff series of the Dark Angels and the Rise of the Warlords. I'm excited to see what's next.

Was not worth the wait. Was very disappointed with this book. Took me much longer than usual to finish it. Kinda had to force myself. I really hope this series isn't falling off.

I read this without reading any other books in the series, I don't think it effected my view of it since there were only a couple confusing parts that I attributed to having read the other books. Otherwise this was a great standalone story. I was thoroughly entertained. I thought it was a fun spicy story, with a little darkness. Sunny and William's interactions were kind of funny but also sexy. William is a very over the top character with how he views himself but I loved it. I was surprised by the comedy aspects given how the cover looks and from reading the synopsis, It was a good surprise though.

This isn't perfect by any means, but it sure was fun.

I wasn't kidding when I said I soured on Keeley. Her ability to manipulate and control nearly everything is too much and ruins things. And I hated Gillian's book so much, I wish this one stopped referencing it. Let me take joy where I can, stop bringing it up, please.

It feels like this should be really epic, and somehow it's not quite. The ending is big, but it takes place so quickly, and some things are only resolved in the epilogue, so it feels kind of thrown away. And it's very nitpicky, but this book had a lot of weird errors. Using pack for unicorns, instead of herd or whatever? Fine, I'll deal. But there are so many editing errors -- wrong words, two verb tenses in the same place, as though someone was supposed to come back and make a decision, etc. Enough that my brain kept catching them instead of smoothing them over. Distracting and really unfortunate!

But man, Sunny was really fun, and a couple choosing to be honest and vulnerable with one another in order to form a connection? Wow, a concept. I would've liked more of them actually, after the climax, just the two of them. Some kind of emotional follow through. But this is kind of all I can ask for from these books.

So many laughs

As much as I love this series I was nervous to buy this book on release day and just waited for my library's waitlist to get to me. I might have been 20% into this book and decided, "nope I have to own this story. Sunny and William are too hilarious together". She calls him out for the stuff other women have let him get away with and I love that she's a black unicorn with color changing hair and eyes. Very excited to see what else is in store for our Lord's of the Underworld.

I enjoyed this book. I know a lot of people where skeptical about William being with a Unicorn shifter, but i have read many of books where unicorn shifters are not all sweet and rainbows and Sunday was the perfect mate for William. She didn't take his shit and she gave just as good as she got. I loved her fire and her sass. The fact that she was able to change her appearance (hair color, eye color, even skin color) made her the perfect mate for him.

I am giving this series a 4.5 stars altogether because I enjoyed more books in the series than i didn't. I liked most of the couples featured in this series and the plot flowed smoothly from on book to the next.

I believe this was the final book in the series and everything was wrapped up nice and neat. We got all of our questions answered about William and his past and the war with Lucifer finally came to an end.

All in all, a great series.
