Thanks to netgalley for a free read in exchange for a review. Being famous must be hard, because it never seems there is any privacy. When Max and Kit get together it seems like fate. Larger than life hottie rescues damsel in distress. The drama though was like reading a news rag, but still the story was engrossing. Overall entertainment is fours stars.

Temptation by Robin Covington is the first book in the Nashville Nights series. Kit is a star in the music world, but has to repair her reputation after spending time in rehab. Max saves her from a fire and would be the perfect distraction for her, but she has to work for her career and a distraction is forbidden. Both have secrets to keep, but their chemistry is strong.

This is again one of those books I've had on my kindle for ages. I am always unsure when I read a book a bought years ago, because I have different taste in books nowadays. But this one was not bad. The chemistry between Max and Kit was amazing! They respected each other and each other's boundaries (at least most of the times). And the book had many steamy scenes, and they were well written. They really were pretty good. The plot itself was well done too. Kit is not the typical music star. She is aware of the dangers and will do anything to help the people around her. She is really strong. Max is okay too. He adores Kit. I found it a bit strange that i first really wanted to have sex with her, because he was a fan of her. That made me question their relationship at the beginning, because I found it quite weird. But he is a good guy.

The relationship had some ups and downs, and most could have been avoided if both had communicated well with each other. Such "breakups" always annoy me a bit. Because they usually have a very stupid reason or they just get cold feet. And we had it twice in this book. Other than that, their relationship was good.

The book was good. I enjoyed the story and the characters.

Kit Landry is a 21-year old country music star working hard to resuscitate her career following a personal meltdown and stint in rehab. Max Butler is the firefighter who rescues her when she's trapped in her record company's studio fire. To say they have an immediate connection is an understatement.

I enjoyed the story and liked that Kit was the celebrity, young but very mature in a lot of ways. However, both she and Max were very emotionally immature and their actions reflected as much. The frequent breakups were tiresome, especially the last one and the emphasis on the sexual aspect of their relationship overwhelmed any other connections. However, both were likable and admirable characters who I wanted to win. And, I liked how hard they fought for each other.

I'll definitely continue the series.

Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!

My first response after completing Temptation was that it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and I haven’t changed my mind about that!!

Max had fantasized about Kit, but then he rescues her from a burning building one day and they embark on a three week, no strings attached fling. Max has been burned in the past by somebody that he loved so he is not looking for a permanent relationship. Originally he is fine with the deal that he and Kit made, but as that time went on he knew that he had to be there for her and have her in his life. He knew that he was “THE ONE” and he would be there for Kit and protect her.

Kit has had a rough life and had to grow up quick. She is a singer and has in her mind that she is responsible for taking care of a lot of people (especially her mom), but in return Kit doesn’t have anybody who looks after her or takes care of her. UNTIL MAX! When things go bad for Kit publicity wise Max is there to protect her and knows that he don’t want to leave her side ever again.

What do you get when you cross the tv show Chicago Fire with the TV show Nashville, you get Robin Covington's brand new book Temptation.

The characters of kit and max were explosive and tempting. The characters we're both struggling with in their own lives to get through their day to day. Being burned out with her singing career and max being a hot head in the fire department. Their chance meeting set off a string of events for the two. Their constant push pull was electrifying.
I highly recommend this book as I have recommended all of robin covington's books. Her books are addictive like potato chips. Make sure you read this book you will not be sorry....

The first two-thirds/three-quarters of this novel was FANTASTIC. I loved both Kit and Max's characters--the dual first-person POV was a bit different, but I liked it. It worked here. Robin Covington did a great job of amping up the tension and drama--for a while there, I could have sworn the pages were turning themselves! There was a lot of humor mixed in with steamy sexy times--perfect :) Occasionally, I could even read out loud to my daughter some of the parts that made me make an audible noise while reading (laugh, snort, gasp--sometimes all three!) when she heard me and said, "What??" (Other scenes had to be heavily edited, though. Or just talked over in very vague terms--she's only fifteen, after all. Isn't that what the internet's for, anyway? ;))

Speaking of responsible parenting, Max's mother was awesome. She's not in it much, but the bits that she is (especially when Max is getting in trouble) she's stellar.

The last part--don't get me wrong, it still earned a solid four stars--just didn't seem to be quite as tightly written as the beginning. It felt like the characters lost their focus a bit and didn't seem to quite have the same sense of purpose as they had earlier on. There was a fair amount of waffling (Kit especially) taking place, and the events here were a bit more predictable, with relatively quick and easy fixes.

But...the ending was cute--and did I mention I loved the characters?--making it an enjoyable read overall.

Rating: 4 stars / B+

A cross between the TV show Nashville and one of my all time favorite movies, Notting Hill, Robin Covington’s Temptation is a fun and spicy mixture of sex, melodrama, and fairytale.

Kit Landry is a 21-year-old music star walking the tight rope as she aims to redeem herself after very public bald-Britney type meltdown. She has a load of responsibility to shoulder, and she’s struggling to balance her obligations with her personal dreams. She’s melting under the pressure (literally, melting; the opening scene was awesome!) when she’s rescued by sexy-as-f*** firefighter Max Butler.

“I’m dead.”
“No ma’am; you’re okay. You’ll be fine.”
“Nope. I’m dead.” I pointed at him with a shaky finger, “Because anybody as beautiful as you must be an angel.”
I heard laughter as everything went blank.

Max is swoon-worthy, panty dropping, player with a bruised heart and a White Knight complex. He’s got a big d*** and a dirty mouth, and he knows how to use both. If you’re looking for two characters with blazing chemistry, then you’ll love this book. An added bonus is the fact that it’s much more. These two characters have heart. Kit and Max have pasts that haunt them, and make them careful of trusting and loving another person. Their relationship begins as a casual thing, but any romance fanatic (me!) knows that that never works. Once they both start getting invested, that’s when the story gets good.

“He was it for me. He could be – was – my everything.”

-Make love to her
Not just sex.
Oh hell. I’m in trouble.

This story was told using a dual POV, and I loved it. Getting to see both Max and Kit’s perspectives added depth to the story. Personally, I would’ve liked to delve even more into their pasts to get a deeper feel for their motivations, but then again, I love pain and angst. I’ve read four other books by this author so I know that isn’t her style, and hell, not every book has to be an emotional battlefield. I loved this book for what it was; an enjoyable, raunchy, surprisingly tender love story about two people reluctant to fall in love. I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves rom-coms and fantasizes about a ridiculously sexy fireman throwing them over their shoulder, and hauling them off to bed to f*** them senseless. So, basically everyone ;)

Country music is not my thing and that didn't even matter because this book was so good it didn't even bother me. Max and Kit were endearingly flawed and real. I was rooting for them to work out as a couple from the beginning. This book had just enough intrigue to keep me guessing without detracting from the romance aspect of the story. I had never read anything by this author and now I want to read everything.
