It was interesting to find out what really happened between Liam/Hunter and Em during the last book's kidnapping. It was also interesting to see how Emmy and Hunter could possibly make a relationship work between the princess of the Reapers and the kidnapper from the Devil's Jacks.

Wylie said this book is more of a New Adult book and has a different tone than the rest of the series, but don't let that scare you off. It's a game changer for the series, fills in some of the blanks, and sets up the next book (and the 6th?).

Devil's Game is the third book in the Reapers MC series by Joanna Wylde. While followers of the series will still be able to glimpse the characters they've grown to love in the first two books, this third book shifts to the Reapers' rival MC, the Devil Jacks.

The lead characters, Emmy Lou "Em" Hayes, older daughter of the Reapers MC president, and Liam "Hunter" Blake, member of the Devil Jacks, first cross paths in book two, Reaper's Legacy. The story that unravels in Devil's Game begins with the events leading to Em and Liam (yes, Liam, because I prefer calling him "Liam" rather than "Hunter") meeting and what happens after Em and Sophie are rescued after being kidnapped, as shown in Reaper's Legacy.

These two leads had a great deal to overcome, given their short but oh-so-colorful history, and while I will admit that Liam was often an ass during the whole kidnapping episode, the guy won me over. ^.^ I love Em and Liam as individuals, but together they were simply a force to be reckoned with. ♥

Devil's Game is currently my favorite in the Reapers MC series and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for both steam and a good story. ^.^ 4.5 stars for this gem, rounded off to five stars for GR's purposes. ♥

ok I loved this book. This book shows love doesn't happen in a pretty vacuum with no problems and no other people messing it up. It also shows that the biker way is definitely not the civilian way.
Spoiler most civilian fathers only dream of beating the hell out of their daughters boyfriends with their buddies lol
Hunter is a Devil's Jack the enemy of Em's dad's MC the Reapers. As the Presidents daughter Em is the overprotected princess who wants to live a little and falls for Liam not knowing Liam is Hunter a Devil's Jack. Circumstances force Hunter to deviate from the plan he had to use Em and in turn destroy her fragile trust. The rest of the book goes on with them both struggling to stay apart because they know it's not likely to work out. Being together is going to cost both of them the trust of their clubs and loved ones. As Burke (Jack's MC) said “Romeo and Juliet died, son. Consider that all the answer you need.” is answer to if he would have allowed the relationship if it hadn't been beneficial at the time. In the end the heart wants what the heart wants and it comes down to needs versus wants and what is most important in life personally.

On to the characters!

Liam/Hunter: He's a vicious brutal bastard. And I love him for it. Even when he was a crow bar with a swiss army knife taped to it (AKA a tool and a half) it was done for him with purpose. It might not make sense to others but it makes sense to him. He's at the core of it a protector. Even if he's protecting Em from him. From the first scene of his in the book to the last he was all about the protection of others despite what nefarious deeds or sacrifices he had to make.

Em: Em is fierce. She knows MC life and loves it. As Hunter says at one point. "Best fuckin' old lady ever." She's stuck deciding between her club, her dad and her heart the whole book. I wanted to punch Deke when he calls her spoiled. Despite being daddy's little girl and the "club princess" she doesn't wait around wringing her hands waiting to be rescued.
SpoilerEven when she "betrays" her father and Hunter it was to facilitate peace and work as the go between

I'm still kind of bitter about this book on their behalf because while they're getting their Happily Ever After it was after sacrifices on both of their behalves. Neither of them will be 100% trusted by their respective clubs again unless in the future they join together not just declare a truce that could end at any time. In the end they made their choice and accepted the lives they'll lead but I'm still angry even though I know it wouldn't be all hearts and flowers and moonbeams. You would think their friends and families would know them well enough to know how strong they both are unless lives are on the line.

4/5🌶️, MF, motorcycle club, rival MCs, abduction, technically a standalone but better read as part of the series (at least after book 2), Libby ebook

Third book of the Realer’s MC series, and I think I liked this one the best so far. This book has Romeo and Juliet vibes as the couple are from rivals clubs - she’s the prez’s daughter and he’s a high level enforcer. Like any good romance, this book starts with an abduction, and basically retells a portion of the last book from the FMC’s POV. I really liked the FMC, I enjoyed that she grew up in the MC so she knew all about the club stuff and was prepared to defend herself. She stood up to the MC members, didn’t let them push her around, and made decisions for herself, which was a change from most of the other FMC’s.

The MMC is kind of a dick at the beginning, but at least he’s self-aware. He grew on me as the book progressed, especially when he started to win back his girl after he was a dick. He respected the FMC (eventually) and treated her like a partner. I liked how the couple fought to be together and once they committed, nothing could keep them apart. I also liked the variety of spice in this book - there was some good dry humping and coming in pants, passionate kissing, handjobs, phone sex, etc. the FMC was a virgin but it wasn’t really fetishized and she wasn’t inexperienced. Plus, there was enough MC politics and action to keep the story moving.

I don't know why I keep reading these. I was forced to relive the world's most boring kidnapping (which took place in book two) for the first FIFTY percent of this god awful story. Em and Liam have no real connection throughout. We're told multiple times that they have these incredibly deep and bonding conversations, but conveniently, they always take place off page. The conversations that take place on page are full of red flags and extremely concerning.

Its bad enough that Liam literally kidnaps Em, but he also takes nude photos of her without her consent and threatens to send them TO HER DAD!!! This is all resolved when he gallantly allows her to kick him in the balls????? They also get into another fight later in the book because of the photos, which is again resolved by her kicking him in the balls. I could go on and on about the insanity but I think I've wasted enough time on this series.

This book was exactly what I was hoping Emmy's story would be. I love love love this series. Liam is officially a book boyfriend of mine and I'm not sharing. I recommend this to anyone that loves a tatted bad boy with a shady past and a hidden big heart. Such a good read and I couldn't put it down even had a hard time not ignoring my kids. ;-) haha
