Informative and something to think about. It was easy to read but a month later, I am not sure I will be able to remember most of what I read. It seemed so intuitive and ubiquitous that now I don't remember any of it. Does that make sense?

A couple of good points and thought provoking items, but 98% things that you've heard at every weight watchers meeting for the past thirty years. I was hoping for more of the mind /brain aspect as the title teases, but it was not deep. The first half of the book is spent maintaining the American way of eating and food pyramid guidelines of wheat and carbs etc., and trashing keto more than was necessary.

This book brought up many good scientific points that I hadn't previously thought about. I liked when Smith talked about how each person is different and thus a diet that works for one person...won't work for everyone. This book helped me to understand my relationship with food in a way I never have before.

Since being diagnosed with a chronic illness the medications caused me to gain as well as the sedate lifestyle so now I struggle with body image, weight, and all of the things that go along with that, The book talks about behavior based therapy and gives very simple steps and journaling techniques you can use to ensure that you have a lasting result.

I highly recommend for anyone who might struggle with their weight or self image .

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the Publisher and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.

I was hoping that this book would help motivate me to stay on track with my health/fitness journey, but it did not. Most of this book is common sense with a few helpful insights. I wouldn't recommend someone purchase this book, I would suggest saving your money and checking to see if your local library has a copy. That is how I accessed this book and I'm so glad I didn't purchase.

Why did it take me so long to read this book? Because although I've been overweight all of my life and I know I need to get some of this weight off, as I began the book, we were in the beginnings of dealing with Corona Virus where I work, and I wasn't mentally ready to get through it. Thankfully I'm in a little better place at the moment, so I was able to finally read it. There are a lot of tips I was able to get from this book. In fact, I just ordered a hard copy because it's something that I'll need to refer to as I attempt to continue on this journey.

I actually watched Celebrity Fit Club when it was a new show. I thought Dr. Ian was annoying. Imagine my surprise when several years later I'm reading his book and it actually really good. I guess I wasn't ready back then. This is going on my reread list.

This book is about getting the right mind-set. helping to make the right goals, and find your motivation so you can stick to your weight loss plan. I felt that it made a lot of good points and gave some valuable tools to help you decide if you really are ready, and if you are then what will make the difference this time from all of the other times you have tried to lose weight.

It's short and simple but sometimes that's what you need. Nothing earth shatteringly new, but still I can see myself listening to this book again and again. Just to reiterate the stuff I already know. Also there were some good practical to tips.
