Overall Thoughts: The setting of One More for Christmas was so perfect, and I found myself longing for the first snowfall as I was reading this. Sarah did a great job creating a warm and cozy atmosphere that readers could feel transported to, and I wish Kinleven truly existed. I found this to be a festive read that felt fast-paced and was easy to get through.

Characters: As with most Sarah Morgan books, I really enjoyed the cast of characters. I felt that even the smallest of side characters was lovable (Charlotte), but because of that I found myself wanting more of them. I enjoyed the changing perspectives, but I would have liked to hear from the McIntyres. I felt like this was one standalone of Sarah's that I wanted a spin-off series for.

Plot: This wasn't my favorite storyline from Sarah. I suspected the plot twist/reveal and felt that the way in which it was revealed fell a little flat. The plot points I was most interested in were rushed and not explored as deeply as I would have wanted them to be. At times it felt like the book was struggling to choose a focus between the romance and the family dynamic, which I think came from switching character perspectives. Overall I enjoyed reading this story, but I did not enjoy it as much as some of her others.

My Mini Thoughts

Samantha and Ella grew up loving Christmas, but unfortunately their mom, Gayle always thought it was a wasteful holiday. As the girls grew older they saw how disappointed their mom was with their life choices. After years of not being able to live up to their moms expectations, Ella and Gayle had a big fight where Samatha sided with her sister.

It has now been 5 years since the big fight, and during those years she missed with her daughters, Gayle rose to the top in her career field and published two books. One day she is rushed to the hospital after an accident at work. When her co-workers ask who they can call Gayle realizes she is truly alone. That's when she makes a vow to change, and it just happens to be Christmas time.

This is a cute story about a mom trying to make up for time lost. I knew this was going to have a happy ending because it takes place around Christmas. I enjoyed reading along as Gayle's eyes were opened to what Christmas was really about, and how she was repairing her relationships with her daughters.

This one is out now! Thank you #htpbooks and Author Sarah Morgan for my #copy!

Book Rating: 4/5

Beautiful book. I was looking for a read with a Christmas setting, and this totally fit the bill. A little predictable, but that was kind of what I was looking. The writing was excellent and so descriptive, I could really imagine the estate and the house. A nice easy read.

This was my first Sarah Morgan book and I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style.

We follow sisters Samantha, Ella and their estranged mother Gayle (who haven’t all been together in 5 years) to an estate in the Scottish highlands for Christmas where we see if the magic of the season and the setting can bring this family back together.

We spend a lot of time at the start getting the family’s backstory, which is definitely relevant but I have to be honest at one point I was eager for them to hurry up and just get to Scotland.

Despite that, this was a really cute, sweet read. I didn’t feel it was overly Christmas centred, other than the fact they were travelling there for Christmas (very little of the book was focused on the holiday itself) so I’d say it’s more a winter read than a Christmas one. Perfect escapism though.

This was an interesting read that departs from the usual holiday rom-coms. But that's not to say there isn't any romance. I liked the way Sarah Morgan broke the story in different perspectives. I think the different POVs played well into the lesson that we need to listen to others to truly mend a relationship. My personal favorite POV was Gayle, especially the moments between Gayle and Mary, the owner of the manor and the mother of one of the love interests. The motherly connection between them was really sweet. The only perspective that wasn't very satisfying was Kristie's, the daughter of the owner of the Scottish manor. Her story didn't feel like it contributed to the plot at all and felt like page filler. I wished her storyline was more developed and not was rushed with her ending.

I've enjoyed many of Sarah Morgan's other books and this cover drew me right in. Her Christmas books are some of my favourite. This one drew me right in and I chuckled instantly at how the first few chapters unfolded. I was delighted with the Scotland setting like her previous Christmas book I'd enjoyed and the entire premise was fun but also emotional and captivating. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Christmas read if you like some family drama that moves towards a resolution, sweet romance with adorable characters, and a fun holiday setting in the Scottish highlands. I want everyone I know who loves this genre to add this to their list and I will be purchasing a copy for a few friends for Christmas.

Thank you to Harper Collins and Edelweiss for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For many years I have enjoyed reading Christmas themed books in December and this book has been a welcome addition to that tradition.

Gayle is a high powered businesswoman who runs a consultancy business and has written two books. But her controlled life is about to unravel as a result of an embarrassing incident in front of a tv crew.

Meanwhile there are her estranged daughters, Samantha and Ella who she hasn't been in touch with for 5 years. Ella has a couple of large secrets that she hasn't shared with her mother. These being the fact that she is married and also that she has a daughter.

Gayle gets in touch with Samantha after she is injured as she realises she is alone and would like to make amends with her daughters if possible. Then there is the suggestion of them spending Christmas together in Scotland. Will it work or go pear shaped.

A highly enjoyable read.

I’m not one for reading Christmas books but I decided to give this one ago and I’m glad.

Sarah has made me change my reading habits! I need to invest in more Christmas reads.

This was a lovely meaningful story.

I loved reading about Gayle, Samantha and Ella.

A perfect read to read all year round, but even better during the Christmas period.

Je l'ai fini. Enfin.
C'était bien mais c'était long.
