I highly recommend this book.
I never cried reading before, and I couldn't even stop myself. From the very beginning to the end.
I think it's not only a romance novel, it's the story of how a character -or a real person for that matter, can learn from its past and try to heal itself on its own. It's a really powerful story.
I'm trying not to spoil anyone, and this was one of the best book I read for the past month. So yeah I recommended this book to anyone and everyone.

I loved it !

This book is a cute and quick read. Avery and Brooks's friendship (and then relationship) is so pure and they have great chemistry ! The music part of the story and the family camp/vacation are an interesting mix !

It deals with self-discovery, betrayals, family dynamics, musics and friendships.

This was my first read by this author and I would totally read more of her books !

Lizzie is a ball of sunshine wrapped in a natural disaster. She’s cruising through life like a tsunami and she owns it. She loves who she is, flaws and all and it’s so good to read about it. Obviously she still has some issues but who doesn't ?
Rake is…. Her total opposite I would say. He’s safe and makes rational decisions. Also he’s her baby daddy. He’s willing to move continents to help Lizzie and their baby. So yes, it’s a perfect story of opposite attracts.

I loved unplanned pregnancy because the drama usually happens at the beginning of the book and then we’re just reading about two people falling in love. And I know this trope is pretty controversial in the book community but as a lover of this trope, I can safely say that this book really delivered.

I would recommend it to everyone really !

This one was pretty weird… but kinda great at the same time ? I feel like the story had so much amazing potentiel, but it felt rushed 60% out of the book… I mean, if the book was twice as long, it would have made more sense to me.

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

Here are some of the things that bothered me :
First of all, the beginning was so great ? With the kidnapping, all the girls stuck with each other and how they coped with it. But the fact that one of them had a device (the translate ear thingy) to understand them was pretty weird… I mean, the aliens seemed so much more evolved than humans, it felt weird that only one had that device but, like many things in this book, it really helped the storyline. But I would have appreciated something more subtil i guess.. Same with the mother ship in the cave. Ok,it helped Georgie speak the same language as Vektal but it kinda eases all the problems in the book ? Now she can speak and understand but i don’t know, it felt really simple for this pretty complex story.

And let’s not talk about Vaktal’s greeting, ok ? ok.

Don’t get me wrong, I think I will totally read the second one, because it really intrigued me !

I don’t know how many times I read this book, but it’s definitely not the first or second time.
I read it first in march 2021, and I’ve literally been obsessed about it ever since. It’s easily my favorite book by Christina Lauren.

Everything is AWESOME in this book :
the marriage of convenience, the love of music and Broadway, the toxic friendship, the selfdiscovery of Holland, the oncles, the fight and the Irish vibe.

There’s spice but not too many, there’s heartbreak, and love and ahhhh. Everything is awesome, that's all I have to say.

Literally just a lot a sexual tension and sex with an alien. Not many storylines at the begining (except the mate thing we had in the first book), even less than in the first book but we already know a bit of the world thanks to the first book so I guess that’s okay.

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

The second part of the book was actually pretty cool, with the exile thing. I feel like it makes sense that both of them are “forced” to go hunting to feed the tribe. And to be honest, they sure were happier when they were alone than in the cave with all the others…

This book seriously made me rethink my academic career (which is non-existent) because if there’s more than one Levi Ward, i NEED THEM IN MY LIFE.

I loved Bree, her unexpected life story and how she grew with it. I love how she craves stability after everything she’s been through AND I love how Levi tried to reassure her and prove to her they belonged together. I mean, isn’t it refreshing that for once it’s the man who does all the work and helps the woman trust him ? I don’t know why I feel like it’s mostly the other way around ?

Also, something I really like was : ok this is in a scientific environment, with scientifics and engineers and really big words. And everything was pretty understandable ? I wasn’t lost in the plot and all the scientific jargon. This part was well explained (with simple english words) So yes, points for that !

!! Never mix witchcraft and vodka. !!

If you’re looking for a cute and quick read for fall season or Halloween, you should totally start with This book.

It’s a second-chance love story, with ghosts and magic and witches and talking cats. And curses. lots of them ! It really reminded me of Sabrina the witch (the first tv show, not the recent one…)

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

I feel like the background of all the characters (but specifically Rhys and Vivi) should have been a bit more present. We know practically nothing about Vivi’s parents (or I didn’t pay that much attention, I don’t know), I don’t think we know how they died, or how they were with Vivi (except the one time She used her power in front of her mother). Same for Rhy, even if we know more, we don’t really know much. I would love a real family history ! With them being witches, everything is more interesting !

Anyway, I loved Rhys and Vivi’s chemistry ! They were made for each other and we could see that since the beginning

Also, I love Gwyn, I can’t wait for her book !!

A classic ‘boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after’ featuring a firefighter (because let’s be honest, 80% of the male characters in romance novels are either firefighters (or in the force) or a CEO or some shit like that. And still, I’m reading that book with gusto !

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

Lucas is moving back to his hometown because witnessed some heavy shit in a car crash. He meets Amber, a local teacher who swore off all men because she just got dumped by her ex fiancé. They meet and spark flies !

I have to admit I usually like a bit more of ‘drama’ in romance novels, because even though this book was enjoyable, it was kinda boring too… The main characters were great together, they had trauma they had to go through but I feel like they lacked passion ? There wasn't a huge fight or break up ! They parted ways for like a week and then got back together ! So yes, enjoyable, but nothing special !

BUT I read the synopsis about the other books in this series and they really intrigued me ! I loved Ally and Brooke (Amber’s friends) and Jackson and Griff (Lucas’s friends) so yeah I will totally read all the serie (or as much as I can get)

I LOVED IT. It was 100 times better than the first one (sorry)

The beach, the coffee shop, the found family, the heartbreak, the close proximity… Everything was perfectly explain and nothing was weird (in the timing of the events etc)

Be careful, spoilers underneath !

Ally is awesome ; she’s fierce, hardworking but so lonely. Even in the first book, it was clear all she wanted was a real family and someone who loves her. Her story is also so sad, with her parents’s divorce, her mom dying and then her dad leaving…
Also I really loved her relationship with Riley, even though I wish we could have more interaction before Ally and Nate started seeing each other.

Nate is passionate, loving and hardworking. He would do anything for his family, especially his daughter. I loved how he tried to put Riley before the woman he loved, just because he didn’t want to make her feel bad about a possible mother in law.

The two main characters have really great chemistry and so many similarities ! Although I have too (not too bad but a little bit bad) things to say : the epilogue ? ok it was great BUT I really wanted to know more about their futures ! Would they have more kids (I hope so), how would Riley cope with her siblings and her new mother in law ? I hope we will have crumbs of their story in the next books of the series ! And the second thing, I feel like the spice wasn’t there. They were attracted to each other, that was for sure but it was pretty blend. It was still better than the first book but still, a bit more spice would have been appreciated !
